Mazda mpv 2002. Cooling fans will only turn on

Also check your fan relays, they're located on the left side by the washer fluid in a rectangle black box. If your check engine light isn't on, leave be, they're ok..

I have a mazda mpv 2002. Fans do not work unless the ac is on. Changed the cfm and still the same. Could cooling temp sensor be not signalling the module while still operating normal temperature readings

The fans will not come on till the temperature is above about 90 degrees so it sounds like yours is working ok! The fans will come on as soon as the AC is turned on!

My 2002 maza mpv fan constantly keeps running while it's cold outside and when the car is turned off is it a computer problem.

No, it's the fan module itself. They were recalled but not ALL of them. Mine did the same thing and yet it wasn't part of the recall, go figure. The problem is that if it runs all the time it will run down your battery. The other issue is that sometimes it won't run at all and can cause your engine to overheat. I had mine replaced, cost me a couple hundred bucks. Hopefully yours is under the recall. Check with your mazda dealer and don't let them feed you a line of ****. It's a known issue.

Mazda mpv engine idle problem

I had the same problem with my 2002 MPV. I ended up removing the IAC Idle are-control myself, and cleaning it really well (with some air intake cleaner). Put it back together, and it's been running great for the past year.

Not too difficult of a project, I'm no mechanic, but if your good with tools, it's not to bad.

REPAIR MANUAL NEEDED!!!!

The 2002, 2003 and 2004 Mazda MPV's all use the same Ford 6 cyl. 3.0 duratec engine. The Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute of those years use the same engine. Therefore if you need an inexpensive engine repair manuel for your 2002 MPV, get the Haynes ($20.00) 2001-2007 Escape/Tribute manuel. Mazda sells the a MPV shop manuel for $180.00. I also own a 2002 Mazda MPV LX. 75k miles.
