You may want to reference the Ford Australian Forum Boards.
There has been active discussion on owners being compensated
for particular model years due to a fault with the Shockwave paint.
On a separate note, the auto industry uses our technology for paint durability measurements (film thickness).
We have issued two press releases and have contacted Ford Senior Management on the impact of outsourcing paint applications process and quality control to the Paint Suppliers.

Billions Discovered for Recovery by Automakers
We have released two books -

Why your Car Payments

FACTORY PAINT JOB
We do have research data on various automakers vehicle models from the factory which shows they were released to the automaker, auto dealer and consumer below Ford's paint thickness specifications.
Low film thickness results in paint peeling, stone chipping and body rusting.
Paint applied too thick will crack.
We are advocating a "Truth in Finish Disclosure" to protect automakers, auto dealers and consumers.
You may want to advise your auto dealer on the book and do a search inside the book on either Amazon or our website for additional information.

Just had the same thing happen to my BA. No hot air. I'm a bit of a handyman so I had a go myself. 8 Hours is a reasonable estimate. You have to remove the steering column and entire dashboard to get the bugger out. Not a job I would attempt again.
SOURCE: BA Falcon 'door open' light is on, can't lock
Hi I have the same problem on my BA XT Falcon
Strangely it only happens after it's rained on my car (usually overnight) I then notice that the drivers lock is up and will not lock again until a nice sunny day comes and I leave all doors wide open for hours and hours!! Then all of a sudden once closing all doors normally the little dash door light turns off, and I can again lock the doors
?
Since it rained all last night here, guess what? It happened again!
So I've checked everywhere and cleaned and you name it, but nothing, I'm positive that when a warm sunny day comes again though, all will be ok.
Most annoying issue ever.
Where is this tiny bit of water that's causing this?
And which door?? Can I just disconnect one door at a time? I don't know it's driving me crazy!!!!
SOURCE: brake light switch on ba
Hi there,
If you refer to the following BA Falcon pedalbox diagram, it shows the Brake Lamp Switch (No.10) is on the same bracket, below the Cruise Control Cut-off switch (No.11 - if cruise is fitted).
Study how the Cruise switch is mounted to the bracket - the Brake Lamp switch should be mounted the same way.
From the diagram, it looks as if both switches can be ROTATED to remove from the bracket (ie turned until the switch can drop through the bracket). Study the photos carefully.
If for some reason the switch requires a new mounting clip, then contact Ford to see if you can purchase the clip by itself.
If Ford only sell the switch as a complete unit, then start ringing your local Ford wreckers/dismantlers to compare their price for a 2nd hand Brake Lamp switch.
Cheers,
