No, it wont,, the bulb lighting means that the circuit is completed, without the bulb there is no power flow and therefor drain..

but just a bit of information, you can also pull the fuse for the hood light in the fuse panel, its easier than taking out the bulb.

The car trunk symbol on my dash keeps coming on to tell me my trunk is open, but my trunk is shut tight, also, something drained the battery, so I don't know if it's electrical or just a fuse or someth

The cheap switch that controls the trunk is not working properly and the light is staying on (to drain the battery and trigger the warning) fix the switch. All you have to do is find the switch. Probably is not correctly positioned.

Battery being drained over night

Check to be sure that your hood light is turning off when you close the hood. Seriously. (Common problem.)
Remove the bulb from the hood light to see if the problem persists. If the battery no longer drains, replace the hood light assembly.
Also, run the car for a short while, then turn the car off. Leave the car off for an hour, then feel the back of the alternator. If it is hot, the diodes are bad in the alternator.

2001 Mercury villager battery drains after 2 days. New battery, alternator and starter. Something is causing a constant drain any one know if this is common?

Not common to your car in particular, but common.
Unhook your battery each night to keep from draining the battery whilst you search out the problem.
Put a test meter between the battery and the cable you took off to see how much of a short there is.
Some things that I have found were:
1) Some new replacement radios will drain a battery because they are on all the time, like most television sets today.
2) I have a car, (and have had a few more) that the glove box , (being plastic) was warped, and the glove box light stayed on all the time. I had to remove the bulb.
3) An alarm system, and some are factory built in, can drain a battery.
4) A trunk light, an under-the-hood light, or something else can do this.
Be blessed.

Battery keeps draining when car sits for several days.

Try this to see if you can find the drain: Wait until the car has been off for a half hour, so computer is in sleep mode. Open hood and remove underhood light bulb. Take off negative cable from battery and hook up a test light between cable end and battery post. If you have a drain, bulb should be brightly lit. Start removing fuses one by one until light goes off. When a fuse is pulled that turns light off, that is the problem circuit. Check everything on that circuit to find what is staying on.

Why does my battery keep going dead I have relaced it 3 times a new alternator if the car sits for 2 days or more and is not started and ran the battery is completely dead

BATTERY DRAINS ARE TRICKY. TURN OFF ALL SWITCHES, CLOSE GLOVE BOX. MAKE SURE GLOVE BOX LIGHT IS OUT. OPEN THE HOOD. DISABLE THE UNDER HOOD LIGHT. CLOSE ALL THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL COURTESY LIGHTS ARE OUT. DISCONNECT NEG. BATTERY CABLE. USE 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, CONNECT ONE END TO A METAL PIECE ON THE MOTOR FOR GROUND. FASTEN THE OTHER END TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, THAT MEANS THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. LIGHT NOT ON, NO DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, FIND THE POWER BOX NEAR THE BATTERY. PULL OUT ONE FUSE, IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON PUT HE FUSE BACK, PULL OUT THE NEXT FUSE. IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON PUT THE FUSE BACK . REPEAT THIS UNTIL THE LIGHT GOES OUT, OR GETS VERY DIM. OUT IS BETTER. WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT, THAT IS THE CIRCUIT THAT IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. REFER TO OWNERS MANUAL TO IDENTIFY THE CIRCUIT. IF THE LIGHT NEVER GOES OUT, REMOVE THE WIRES FROM THE ALTERNATOR. IF THE LIGHT GOES OUT, ALTERNATOR NEEDS REPLACING.

Battery keeps draining while car sits. Constantly having to recharge. Replaced battery twice in last year. NEED HELP !

Check to see if it's the light under the hood that stay's on when you close the hood. remove the light bulb and see if it still drains. The other places would be the light over the visor and light in the glove box. Other things would be a bad relay like the A/C relay to the compressor being stuck in the on position and A/C clutch engaged all the time. Start with the light's it may take a few days but better then going to the dealer and paying them to do the same thing for a few days and charging you for the service. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.
