Hyundai Accent 2000 When clutch is depressed gears crunchy.

I have a hyundai accent 2000 model with 16,000 miles and the car wasnt driven for 6 years , the transmission oil has never been changed from new and i have been told that you dont need to change it and the fact that its only done 16,000 miles it doesnt need doing, I have noticed that when i change gears it feels crunchy and hard to get into gears, sometimes it feels really smooth changing , but more frequently its getting worse and everywhere ive taken the car have told me they have no idea and maybe i should change the clutch its only done 16,000 miles and the friction point is still as good as new, any help would be appreciated thanks.

ive only driven it 93 miles , and has started playing up. I have bled the clutch , havent changed the transmission fluid but i will do that tomorrow and see what happens. Its a hydraulic clutch system. Will let you know the outcome but am considering replacing the clutch.

How many miles have you driven the car sence it came out of storage? you said it sat for 6 years it could be rust on fly wheel or pressure plate, that would make it shift like you said, because the clutch plate is either sticking to the fly wheel or pressure plate. when it shifts hard that means the clutch is not releacing all the way most likely because of the rust. i would just drive it and see if it comes out of it. it shoud not take long maybe 50 to 100 miles more or less. also i would chg. trans oil, setting that long moisture could have got in there, you know what they say about oil and water. also if it has a cable for clutch chk. see if it's hanging up to. setting that long rust becomes a big factor. hope this helps.

08 Hyundai accent clutch pedal seemed to jam, it wouldnt depress. Tried it again later, still really stiff then made a noise and started to depress, works ok now but not as smooth as before.

the accent should be an hydrolic type, and what you are saying says to me the, clutch plate and cover is exstreamly worn and needs to be replased , ie bent toggels ext, but firstly make shore nothing is restricting the clutch pedal being depresed under the foot well
