Electrical issue we have an oldsmobile achieva s that the dash and tail lights suddenly quit working on but strangely the issue isn't any of the fuses so it kind of has us stumped

Some older article mentioned a relay for the lights, see if you can find a relay for the parking lights in the owners guide for a location, you can swap it with another relay with the same numbers in the panel to quickly test if its bad

the stator in the alternator is or will short out from your midhap so replace the unit with a rebuilt alternator

With my experiance the dash fuse is burt out, when the tail lights go out the dash lights also go out because there on the same circuit,

With lights on dash lights are not working ---fuse is looks good. what do I look for and where?

Have you checked ALL the fuses? The dash lights are on the same circuit as your tail lights. If your taillights are on, you probably have a bad connection where the instrument cluster snaps into the dash connector. That would require removing the cluster.

The head light switch is the problem here,it controls both.

Remove and replace flasher.

if the fuses are good, then I would suspect the headlight switch since that is the only other place they are tied together

check the fuse link coming from the battery

does your vehicle have tilt wheel...that is a common problem and your brake light wires run down through the steering column
