I have a 1992 Thunderbird and the anti lock brakes stays on and the brake light statys on sometimes sometimes notI took it to 1 mechanic he said it was my master cylinder? going out I took it to another mechanic he said it was my hydraulic unit going out?are they both the same thing and sometimes my brakes are fine and sometimes not.when I'm at a stoplight I can feel my brakes pulsating.

My wife took the car to exaust pro in Lexington, Ky. They did a scan and it was a speed sensor. They replaced it and it is fine. The car is great but after hearing all the complaints about the heater core we are going to sell it and get a Toyota Avalon. Also I replaced the antenna mast at 35k.

Adjust your rear brake shoes. Then rebleed the system. Start at the master cylinder Bleed master first then the wheel furthest away from the master (right rear then left rear then right front then left front. Do that and your pedal should be good.

If the light is not on it may not be the ABS that is pulsating on slow braking but it may be that your have warped brake rotors, even if the rotors were replaced with the pads the new ones may be warped already, we always check new rotors on a brake lathe before installing them because we have seen this happen many times

Did your mechanic use a DRB III or equivalent scanner before performing the bleeding procedure after installing the master cylinder? This is a requirement by the manufacturer (Chrysler) when bleeding the brake system.

One of the sensors has gone bad and needs to be replaced, the other thing to that would also do that is the ABS sensor is dirty or needs to be re gaped to the speed ring on the hub. There was a issue bulletin with your Tahoe on the ABS activating under 8 km/h. Good luck and hope this helps, if not clean out the sensor with brake parts cleaner and check the wire harness and ABS sensor bracket. Re gap the sensor to the speed ring hub. Here is the bulletin.
