My dashboard is lifting up at the vent

remove the lower dash liners to get to the plastic trunking going to the heater/ac unit and with a bit of luck you should find it if not its gone in the main unit could be big job to remove

If you are referring to the "heater" blower motor resister?
It is under the top section of the dashboard where the shelf detent pad is. First remove the screws on top of the pad area, next start lifting up the right side of the dashboard section towards the center and over towards the left over the instrument cluster and lift out the complete top of the dash. Next remove the defroster duct by removing the screws. Unclip from the lower section and the duct will lift out. The resister is located there under the dash area and will unbolt allowing removal. "Good Luck."

Jack up front; remove road-wheel (support Picasso on axle stand).

Remove two large torx screws on lower edge of bumper and peel back wheel arch liner (wedge behind hub).

Remove small torx screw holding black plastic support piece below lamp.

Remove 4 torx screws on holder surrounding lamp, pull back holder and support piece and lift out lamp (minding hands on broken glass)

Note that the body coloured bezel will try to fall outwards at this point.

Fit new lamp and push bezel in at the same time.

Refit all screws in reverse order, refit wheel etc.

on the trunk under cover next to speare tire

sounds like the plastic is warping from the sun. replacing the dash is quite a pain and i would not suggest attempting this alone. if the appearance is what is bothering you you can always purchase a dash cover that will velcro down and hide the problem. otherwise i would take the vehicle to a professional.

after you remove the main dash there are 4-5 bolts across the top of dash that hold the front dash piece in . and where the dash fits by the windshield are plastic tabs that slide into metal sleeves. When you remove bolts you have to pull dash away from window with a little force as those metal fasteners are very grippy. be very careful not to get pissed and impatient as you do not want to break the plastic tabs that hold dash down. Thank god i only broke one as there is 4 and any more broke would be a rattle noise probably . take your time and dont break things, you will be glad you did

There is a plastic lock on the rod that runs from the inside handle to the latch. It's worn and letting the rod fall out of the hole. You should be able to get the lock at the dealer. Replace it and you shpould be okay. The door obviously has to come apart for this. Once you get it opened up have a look inside with a flashlight and you should be able to see the rod. The plastic lock will probably still be attached to it. If not then lift the rod up and it will line up with a hole in the latch that has a plastic liner. Remove the liner. This is the piece you need. If you don't replace it then it will fall out again. Hope this helps.

The plastic piece surrounding the radio has four screws holding it. Two just above the controls for heater/fan, one when you open the glovebox, and one in the same position as the glovebox one on the other side (drivers side). Sorry, but it's a bit hard to explain in words. You'll need to crouch down and look up for the screws, they're out of sight, mounted in the bottom parts of the plastic. After the four screws are removed, use a flat screwdriver in the two vents above the radio to pry them down away from the dashboard, and the whole piece will lift out. Oh, just remember to take the knobs off the radio if it's stock, and the knobs off the heater controls before you start, or they'll be flying across the car when you pull the plastic surrounding out.

gonna replace a broken off antenna base on a 2001 yukon xl , I was able to take out the vent, handle bar the screws on both side panel of the dash board still cant lift up the dashboard

What are they rubbing on? You could just fix the rubbing by taking off what it's rubbing on. Usually some plastic, like the fender liners. A lift that small has nothing to do with the links. If it's when you turn you'll need new rims. Get ones with more backspacing.
