If you have very hot front wheels not stand to touch the rims not the discs - because the discs are very hot due to brakes impact friction- then it is one thing either you have semi blocked pressure hoses on calipers or sticky calipers,or master cylinder or ABS Accumulator. But I suggest to start from the pressure hoses,by jacking up the car on a stand pump the brakes several times and try to rotate the wheels,if are tight to spin then open the bleeder on the caliper to release pressure if kept in and retry to spin the wheel. If are free the you confirm that are your front brake pressure hoses. good luck

My steering wheel shakes when braking over 40 mph

most likely a warped rotor, check front end components (tie rod ends, ball joints). if a caliper is sticking the rotor will get very hot, get black, or discolor, and bend (warp). drive around for10 min. and jab the brakes hard several times during the drive. stop and feel the temp (don't touch) of each wheel with your hand. they should be equally warm. hot or smoking is not a good caliper.

2000 chevy silverado not blowing hot air

1: not enough liquid in the system (air in the heater core)
2: inoperative heater valve not allowing hot liquid into the core
3: hot/cold blend door in the heater box stuck on cold
4: clogged heater core
A clogged heater core will have one hot hose and one significantly cooler hose at the firewall connection; easily tested by hand. a good core will have both hoses very hot to the touch when the heater is on full blast.
Make sure that the system is full and at operating temperature, and the heater controls set on full heat. Feel the hoses at the firewall; if they are both too hot to touch then the problem is in the heater box or controls.

Front Rims are very hot after short trips, too hot to touch, what coudl cause this?

Dear Mr. Tom the reason which is causing you rims to become hot after a short trip is either you are using too much your brakes or you have problem with your brakes master cylinder or the ABS accumulator,or calipers or pressure hoses are a semi blocked and on releasing the brake pedal the fluid does not return immediately to master cylinder and are going slowly-slowly therefore keep the calipers pushing the pads against the discs and are getting hot. My advice is to jack the car on a stand and start the car pump the brakes and release and immediately rotate the wheel to see whether is hard turning. If so open the bleeder to release the fluid and check again. If the wheel spin freely then are your pressure hoses.. Good luck.

I will have to change the brake discs on all 4 wheels. Will the rear wheel be different then the front?

Yes. Rears are generally thinner. Fronts do majority of braking and are considerably thicker.

Over heating brakes in hot weather with a strong smell

When was the last time your brakes where replaced. Your rims can get hot sometimes even on short trips depending on how often you need to use your brakes. But if your pads are low and "burning up" you may want to look into getting them replaced before they cause rotor damage. You will also loose braking performance and loose stopping power.

My heater won't warm up has antfreeze 150,000 miles

You either have a thermostat that is stuck open or the heater core is plugged. Get the vehicle warm and feel both of the hoses going to the firewall/heater core. Both of the hoses should be hot to the touch. If one is hot and the other considerably cooler, the heater core is plugged. If both are relitively cool, the thermostat is stuck open.

Heater in car doesnot get warm at all 2004 Toyota Prado

Can you feel hoses going into firewall under hood and see if both hoses are hot to touch, just to see if the flow is getting to the heater core. They should be fairly hot to touch when engine at normal operating temperature & heater is on. If one is a fair bit cooler than the other, that is a sign of a clogged heater core. Let me know what you find, if you can get to them to feel. Careful at first in case real hot.
