If the truck turns over but will not crank you might need to replace the coil box you might not be getting any fire you can check this with a helper pull the number 1 plug attach it ti the plug wire like it would be in the engine and place it near the manafold and have your helper try to start the truck if you get no spark then your coil pack is bad if this is not your problem please let me know and give a little more detail on what it does like sounds if the starter turns stuff like that and then i will be able to help you futher

this means that the solenoid you replaced is falty try this when this happens insted of disconnecting the battery tapp on the solenoid and see if it stops if it does this will need to be replaced it happened to me a few times with a new solenoid

Doesnt want to even attempt to start the battery is good

Try tapping the starter with a hammer while someone bumps the key. If it tries to turn replace starter if nothing happens then i would say the starter solenoid is probably bad.

1980 ford f-250-5.8L-80k miles-replaced battery, starter, starter solenoid, ran great for week or two, now when I start it, engine turns over and runs, but occasionally starter sticks, and just won't turn...

Remove the small wire from the solenoid and hook up the battery. If the starter engages the solenoid is stuck. If the solenoid does not engage the starter with the small wire removed, check the small wire for a short to power.

1994 dodge shadow es 3.0 v6 will not start. when I turn the key I can hear one single click then nothing. All lights work, replaced starter, checked battery terminals and wires for corrosion, fly whee

Replace the starter solenoid. Make sure you hook the wires back properly. Try jumping across the solenoid with cables to see the starter crank. That makes a direction to the starter. That's what the solenoid does. It connects those 2 cable ends together to make the starter crank over.

Wont start

Sounds the starter is no good (sometimes they'll work intermittently for a while before they totally **** out). Of course it could just be a starter wiring problem (sending wire).

1998 6.5L diesel suburban won't start. Starter issue?

It sounds like it could also be the connection-check the wires going to it and the ground wire on the battery itself.

12 volt supply problem 1987 chevrolet r30

i ran into EXACTLY the same problem on an 86. i kept forkin' around and finally went direct to the starter and bingo it started. to this day it is still working and never happened again. i have absolutely no idea why. by the way--that was almost 2 years ago. might also be corrosion between the battery cable @ the starter, and the wires that go to the waring harness.
