How do you get the harmonic balancer

Usually the balancer is all by itself then you transfer the pulleys to the balancer

the best thing to use is called a chain wrench -- for a cheap one to buy, try harbor freight if available, or perhaps your local parts store has a tool borrowing program.

You will have to take the belt off and then take the bolt out of the center that holds it onto the crankshaft. then You need a "harmonic balancer" puller, It has slots that bolt to the inner part of the balancer and you screw in the big center bolt. As you tighten the bolt it "pulls" the balancer. Here is a picture;

YOU HAVE TO REMOVE CRANKSHAFT HARMONIC BALANCER TO REPLACE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR.ITS LOCATED BEHIND IT.YOU NEED A HARMONIC BALANCER REMOVAL AND INSTALLER TOOLS.

yes!! you need to pull the harmonic balancer !! and the center nut i do believe...is a 22 mm and yes you will need a puller

i have a 1998 caravan my harmonic balancer fell off my qquestion is is there 2 separate keys that hold on the timing gear and the balancer pulley on, i have been to the dodge dealer and they printed me out pics but i still don't know for sure if the timing gear has it's own key or there is just 1 long key that holds both the timing gear and the balancer ......PLEASE HELP

The harmonic balancer controls the triggering of the combined crankshaft/camshaft sensor. This controls ignition plus fuel injection. Replace the balancer and adjust the sensor or replace it if damaged.

It should be torq to 33 ft-lbs
