I have replaced the coil the ignition coil computer cap and roter have power to igntion coil and coil to distributer all low end power no high end spark from coil to distributer what am i missing
There is a capacitor (used for noise suppression) which connects to the base area if the distributor. Its purpose is to allow noise (AC) to pass through it and go to ground. DC does not affect this capacitor, it shows an open circuit to DC, UNLESS it is shorted. If it does, as was in my case, it will immediately cause the 30A fusible link, or current limiter on the positive terminal of the battery to open up and remove power to ignition. Remove the capacitor from the base and reapply power. If this was your cause, then the 30A fusible link current limiter will not blow/open.
Hope this helps.

Had same problem. Few thing may be, like the pickup located inside the ignition (works ,like a crack sensor) it costs about $10.00. Or may be a main rerlay that controsl sparks and fuel injection, relay is located at the drivers side. Fixed changing the main relay that control spark and fuel injectors. VOILA!!!! runs again!!!!
THERE IS A STATOR IN THE DISTRIBUTOR, THIS IS THE SAME AS A CRANK SENSOR, HAVE YOU CHANGED IT?

i show power on my meter going to the coil from coil to distribter all the way to the roter but no spark from coil when i pull the coil wire going to the distributer and crank the motor over
i have no crankshaft or cam sensor on this year model could i have a ground problem what happened was i drove home one night from work next day it woudnot start the distributer roter turns when i crank the motor so i know its not my timing belt
where is the ignition module on this model if you mean the computer module i did replace it
do you happen to know where the module is im pretty much out in the country and dont have access to any manuels Ive just been doing this by process of elimination
i dont have a ignition module on this year car its all built into the computer i just replaced the coil wire still no luck any other ideas just cleaned both grounds is there any ignition fuses in the engine area i cant find any
there are no crank sensors or cam sensor on this model thats what has me stumped im about ready for a stick of tnt
ill check it tomorow thanks
no spark from coil. replaced it and still no spark.
i have the similar problem, sometime it won't fire up ,moving the wires from the stutor coil or a relay near the batterie will start the car on some occasions.still working on finding the source
How about the crank sensor?
No not the computer there is an ignition module
I know that the ignition modules do fail fairly regular on this model, have you replaced that? is the distributor stator ok?
Do you have a crankshaft position sensor on this ignition system?
Explain what you mean by all low end power no high end spark from coil to distributer, been wreching 30 years and never heard this, not sure what you are refering to
i have no spark from coil to distributer
1989 ford truck no spark from coil to distributer
low voltage at distribute pickup coil wont start 1991 dodg caravan 2,5 engine
It runs ok, but lately I go to start it up and it dosent want to fire, it seems to after a while but I cant figure it out? Iv changed plugs, wires, Distributer cap and blade and ignition coil?
