Looks like loch has been fiddles with by thieves or kids, Check hole for dirt/match sticks (kids) and for damage to the system (thieves). Clena out if dirty. Replace lock if damaged.

Something wrong, common noise when the bearing is warn and should be be driven till bearing is replaced. Internal supercharger parts may break loose and run through the engine causing expensive repairs such as engine replacement other then the supercharger.

they dont go often but infrequent oil changes extreme driving high mileage can increase the wear and possible break down of parts lifters like any other mechanical part can break or wear out
Check where you hooked up the wires at door install and make sure all wires are hooked up and not pinched. Also if door was a used door the switches if not changed from old door may be bad. Also make sure if used door was used is the electrical parts the same. The door could be but not the electrical parts for the windows and mirrors.
Mazda fuel filters are usually found underneath the back seat. At least that's where mine was. I have a Millenia. Good thing back seats are easy to remove.
You can remove the belt from the super charger and see if knocking persists. Car will run w/o super charger. Plan to spend about $300 for a remanufactured super charger.
sounds to me the problem isnt the battery its the alternator quick test start the car disconect neg. battery cable if the car dies alternator is bad sounds like it is locking up and burning the belt
