The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and this can be reached by removing the back seat.

sounds like a thermostate problem for the over heating would have to no more info for the cost aspect

it could possible be your fuel pump. If your fuel filter is going bad that want stop it from starting. I have a 2002 alero. I done have both fuel pump and fuel filter go bad. so i have a little experience with them.

If you have it underneath your back seat, yes. but if not, you've got no choice but to bring the fuel tank down.

it is in the tank, you will have to drop the tank to get to it. No other way around it.

There shouls be 2 straps inside the trunk at the top. Both on the driver side but one is for the left side and one for the right side seats. Pulling on the straps releases the 'lock' that should then allow you to pull down the seats from the back seat area.
