how to remove the radiator out of 2001 pontiac aztek

Not sure how to remove radiator, on the very top of radiator core frame are two brackets that appear to be connected to the engine, how do I remove the brackets so radiator can be removed.

Looks like each bracket has 4 bolts that need to be removed, also another bolt is part of the brackets that I think needs to be removed.

Any help with this is welcome

ok, i'm gonna take a stab in the dark- i have never seen teh motor of an Aztek, but you should remove the fan shroud, remove the hoses- top and bottom- remove the screws from the brackets and it should pick strait up.

2002 Aztek Service engine light on & high beam indicator flashes

My 2002 Pontiac Aztek service engine light comes on and the high beam light indicator flashes, but only when car is in gear, . Because it doesn't do this when the car is in park and it doesn't happen all the time. There is no obvious reason for this. Anyone have this problem??

The high beam light flashing means you have a high beam burnt out. It flashes when you put it in gear because your high beams actually double as your daytime running lights, only on a lower power.

2002 Pontiac aztec gear shift button wont depress.

I can't get my aztec gear shift button to depress in. Needless to say it is stuck in park. I have tried turning the key and starting the aztec and the button won't budge. The dealership said it is either a break switch or a control modual. THey said it may be the switch that tells the gear shift that you have your foot on the break so it will move out of park. Is this somthing we can replace ourselves??? I hate to have it towed in!! HELP! THanks Teresa

there is a bypass for the safety switch, unfortunately you have to remove the shift cover, the whole plastic piece. there is a white "lever" that you can push that will move the pin out of the way so you can shift it, you have to hold the piece and move the shifter at the same time. it is on the right side of the shifter base (under the plastic piece) you will see what I mean when you remove the center piece.

Mine does this same thing...After taking it to the dealer and paying lots of money I found the solution my self while changing the Driver Side tire. Look behind the tire there should be a little plug for the abs if it comes un plugged in any way or loose then it will disable the AWD. Worked for me hope this works..

2002 Pontiac Aztek - AWD disable light and Anti Lock Light

My Aztek has been making a whining noise at sharp turns and a pretty loud thumping noise when pressing the break peddal.

AWD disabled from a sensor unit in rear differential that senses high temp. This thing is over $300. Whine is from fluid. Need to change fluid. This versatrack fluid is about $40 per bottle and you need 3 bottles. Thumping noise is from loose rear knuckle bushings. These are part of the entire rear knuckle assy. and you must replace complete knuckle.

My lift gate was n/working and I took someones advise and disconnected the negative cable on battery and reconnected. This has fixed the problem thus far. Then my instrument panel lits went out, I did the same as above as I checked the fuses and they were OK...so far disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable has worked.

Sunroof leaks. Every time it rains the sunroof

Sunroof leaks. Every time it rains the sunroof and the sunroof switch leak water. At times a large amount of water collects on the passenger and driver side floor, especially after a heavy rain. The roof upholstery around the sunroof is also stained. Is there any way to fix the leak besides taking it into a dealership?

where is the heater core

where is the heater core on a pontiac aztek and how do i get to it myself

It is located on the passenger side behind the dash. They are very difficult to get to and change. If it is not leaking in the floorboard of the passenger side, then it is probably not the heater core. I am guessing that the heater is not working. If this is the case. Then check the heater control valve.

Which one? Your vehicle is equipped with 2. One is in the exhaust manifold on the left bank and the other is in the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter.

NOTE: Most O2 sensor codes do not mean that the O2 sensor should be replaced. Most of the time, the O2 sensor is only reporting the failure of one of the other system components. To save time and money, I personally recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified service technician. I have seen many people spend hundreds of dollars on O2 sensors only to find out that the problem was caused by something else. Case in point: One man spent nearly $500 replacing all 4 of the O2 sensors on his Ford F-150 Pickup only to have the O2 Sensor code return 2 days later. He brought the vehicle to me and I fixed it with 50 Cents worth of vacuum tubing. O2 sensors do fail, but about 70% of all the O2 sensors that get replaced do not fix the problem that caused the O2 Sensor fault code. Fault codes Never tell you what parts to replace. They only tell you which of the many parameters monitored by the computer is out of specification. Proper diagnosis is required to find out why.

Take off one lead from the battery. Wait a few minutes for the ECU to reset and then reconnect the battery and try starting it again.
