YouTube Computers & Internet - Page 4 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

There are a number of pirate sites around the world for getting movies and TV shows - all of which are ******* and if your internet provider sees you downloading from them, they will lock out your account. Also, many of those sites are heavily infected with dangerous computer viruses as well. You are much better off downloading them legally by paying at some place like Amazon.

Make sure you are signed into YouTube under the account associated with those playlists. The playlists only appear for individual email accounts, not a random user - to keep your history private.

Do you have a flv player? Windows media player can't play FLV. Either get a flv converter to convert it to something which is more easily playable (have a look at some of these http://en.softonic.com/s/free-flv-converter ) or use a youtube downloader which can convert straight from flv ( http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ ) or get a flv player ( http://download.cnet.com/FLV-Player/3000-13632_4-10467081.html )

I reccomend using a converter, as you'll be able to share videos more easily and watch them on a number of devices.

You have two choices:

  1. Lower the resolution of the Youtube video so that less bandwidth is used to download it
  2. Play the video and then immediately click pause until the red bar has completed and then play the video
Quite simply, your computer doesn't have a fast enough connection to play the video, you must let it stream enough video in order for you to play it.

Most online videos use Flash to run. Macs won't support Flash. They use QuickTime.
Google Flip4Mac and download it. Fixed everything for me.

Many universities, schools, offices and certain countries such as China, Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, etc. block various websites / services.
Try using a free public proxy server, or a free software like Tor to access blocked / banned websites.

Try deleting the existing YouTube app and download a new copy. (YouTube changed its apps a while back.)

If you're able to access the internet, this should work.

If you click a HD video on YouTube, just push the pause button. This will allow the video to download before you watch it. HD videos require more time to download from the YouTube server, which is why you can usually watch normal videos without pausing to wait for it to download.
Hope this helps!!
