Clean the disk drive if possible. I've had many a problem with DVD players saying "No Disc". It can be any number of things. On my portable DVD player, some of the problems were traced to one of the following:

• The DVD is not properly set in the cradle,
• The battery power left in the rechargeable batteries was not strong enough and needed to be replaced,
• The Lens needed to be cleaned on the player.

I've had two DVD players stop working in this way, but never figured out why because the repair cost was much more than to just buy a new player. There is a similar problem at this site: Will not play dvd says reading disk then no disk

I can't agree more. Get rid of it and buy something decent.

go to your color in settings on remote and turn the brightness up a notch not to much just a notch.

Usually suspect condensation problem, let it dry out and try cd first.White screen maybe contact resistance in the connector due to condensation from room humidity.

...be sure you are in the same zone as the DVD was designed for. The world seems to be divided in numerous zones, and DVD'S from one area will not work from another area. That is why one should not buy equipment when one goes on vacations !

I do not have a user manual but I just keep on trying and trying and finally can do it. I know how to do voice recording now!

This unit comes with a remote control Use the remote to change the screen option and hide the elapsed time.
