I was given a yamata fy14u4ad overlook but I don't have the manual where can I get one?

Have you searched online yet? Usually each manufacturer has a website with downloadable manuals for all of their machines. If you can't find it there, I've had some luck on EBay and Etsy. Hope this helps.

If it is a mechanical machine, a thorough clean and oil may be very helpful. (You are wise to avoid using the machine until the problem is addressed as the motor could be damaged.) Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

Singer 9410 Bobbin

I had the same problem and after looking on here and finding no answer I went back to my machine and found out what the problem was...ok, where the bobbin case sets in,the metal plate beside it needs to be fitted right close to the bobbin case, so loosen the screws(just two of them) that are in the plate(DO NOT REMOVE JUST LOOSEN) and slide the metal plate over some just enough to fit snug...NOT TOO TIGHT... if its seems to sew too tight loosen it a bit It worked for me, GOOD LUCK

I have a YAMATA fy14u4ad, but I don't have the book to tell me the thread setting so what should the thread setting be for all 4 threads

Assuming this is a 4-thread serger. The thread tension setting will depend on which stitch you are making. A standard 4-thread overlock stitch would generally have the tensions set in the middle. FWIW, the tension in this setting is correct when the threads meet in the middle of the fabric. It should neither be off the edge of the fabric or so tight as to create a puckered edge.

Needle will not move

Tighten the inner knob on hand wheel to make the needle move up and down.
