I have a Yamaha RX-v1800 amplifier. Need help connecting a Bluetooth music receiver

To connect the Bluetooth music receiver to your Yamaha RX-V1800 amplifier, you will need to use one of the available input options on the amplifier. The Yamaha RX-V1800 should have various audio input ports, and the specific connection method will depend on the output options provided by your Bluetooth music receiver. Here are the general steps to connect the receiver:
  1. Identify the audio output options of the Bluetooth music receiver: Check the output ports of the Bluetooth receiver and determine what type of connection it supports. Common output options include:
    • 3.5mm headphone jack (analog)
    • RCA (analog)
    • Optical (digital)
  2. Choose the corresponding input on the Yamaha RX-V1800: Depending on the output options of the Bluetooth music receiver, you need to select the appropriate input on the amplifier. The Yamaha RX-V1800 should have various input options, such as:
    • AUX (usually a 3.5mm stereo input)
    • CD (analog RCA input)
    • DVD/BD (analog RCA input)
    • OPTICAL (digital optical input)
  3. Connect the Bluetooth music receiver to the amplifier: Use the appropriate cable or adapter to connect the output of the Bluetooth music receiver to the selected input on the Yamaha RX-V1800. Here's how to do it based on the different output and input options:a. If the Bluetooth receiver has a 3.5mm headphone jack (analog output) and the Yamaha amplifier has an AUX input (3.5mm stereo input), use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to connect them. b. If the Bluetooth receiver has RCA outputs (analog) and the Yamaha amplifier has corresponding RCA inputs (CD or DVD/BD), use an RCA cable (red and white connectors) to connect them. c. If the Bluetooth receiver has a digital optical output and the Yamaha amplifier has an optical input, use a digital optical cable to connect them.
  4. Set the input source on the amplifier: Once the Bluetooth receiver is physically connected to the amplifier, you'll need to select the corresponding input source on the Yamaha RX-V1800. Use the amplifier's remote control or front panel to select the input source you connected the Bluetooth receiver to (e.g., AUX, CD, DVD, OPTICAL, etc.).
  5. Pair and play: Turn on the Bluetooth function on your iPhone, put the Bluetooth receiver into pairing mode, and pair it with your iPhone. Once paired, you should be able to play your music from the iPhone, and the audio will be transmitted to the Yamaha RX-V1800 amplifier for playback.
Please note that the specific labels of the inputs on your Yamaha RX-V1800 might differ slightly from what I've mentioned, but the general concept of connecting the Bluetooth music receiver remains the same. Always refer to your amplifier's user manual for the exact location and naming of the input ports.

Ysp1 Yamaha surround sound pops and shuts off about 15 minutes after it warms up. Any ideas?

If your Yamaha YSP1 surround sound system pops and shuts off approximately 15 minutes after it warms up, it could be indicative of an underlying issue. Here are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps to consider:
  1. Overheating: One possibility is that the system is overheating, triggering a safety mechanism that shuts it down to prevent damage. Ensure that the ventilation around the unit is not obstructed. Check if the cooling fans are working properly and if any dust or debris has accumulated on them. If necessary, clean the fans and the system's vents to improve airflow and reduce the risk of overheating.
  2. Speaker Wiring or Connections: Faulty or loose speaker wiring or connections can cause intermittent issues and trigger the system to shut off. Double-check all speaker connections to ensure they are secure and properly connected. Inspect the wiring for any damage or shorts. Consider reseating the connections or replacing the wiring if necessary.
  3. Power Supply Problems: Issues with the power supply can also lead to shutdowns. Make sure the power cable is securely connected and not damaged. Try plugging the system into a different power outlet to eliminate the possibility of a faulty outlet causing the problem.
  4. Internal Component Fault: There may be a fault with an internal component, such as a capacitor or a power supply unit. This type of issue typically requires professional repair or component replacement. Contact Yamaha's customer support or consult a qualified technician for further diagnosis and assistance.
  5. Software or Firmware Updates: Check if there are any available software or firmware updates for your Yamaha YSP1 surround sound system. Sometimes, updating the system's software can resolve glitches or bugs that may be causing the shutdown issue.
If the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, it's best to contact Yamaha's customer support or seek assistance from a qualified technician. They can provide specific guidance based on the model and help diagnose and address the underlying issue with your surround sound system.

My Yamaha YSP-1 has been

I would definitely say that you are getting feedback via the power source. Can you try and plug the Yamaha into a completely different outlet? Even better would be to try it on a wall outlet that is on a different circuit breaker, but if that isn't an option, just try it on another outlet. This is often the case as you may not be getting a "clean" sine-wave current. You can also try a surge protector, but the cheap surge protector strips they sell probably won't do, you would need one of the better and advanced surge protectors like the ones made by APC for instance. Good luck!!

Htr-3064 reset power on

I had a Power surge in Brisbane this week and found my YAMAHA HTR-3064 AV receiver unresponsive. Thanks to the Squish22's post, I tried the above approach, which is also listed for another Yamaha model (RX-V667) Unfortunately nothing happened. Another post suggested holding the 'straight' button as you power up to go into "advanced" menu (under DILLIGAF's post.) This also did not work. I thought I'd try pressing all 3 buttons and powering up, which worked a treat. so here's exactly what I did: Yamaha HTR-3064 - Protection mode reset:
  1. Remove the Power cord form mains power and wait 10 seconds.
  2. Plug cord in and turn on wall socket power.
  3. While holding down "info", "straight" and "tone control" buttons, press "main zone" power button. I got a click and it was good to go from there.
I had all of my speakers unplugged at the time and tested off the headphone jack before plugging all the cables back in again. Not sure if I needed to unplug everything, but I was about to dismantle and look for a fuse when I tried this method. Saved me a new system / service fee. Hope it helps you too. Thanks Squish22 and DILLIGAF for the head-start!

I have a Yamaha YST-SW315 subwoofer power amp only detached from the unit I want to know what else I can use that detached amplifier for other than that unit which I have no longer?

The Yamaha YST-SW315 subwoofer power amplifier is designed specifically for use with the YST-SW315 subwoofer. It may not be compatible with other subwoofers or audio equipment due to differences in impedance, power requirements, and signal levels. If you no longer have the YST-SW315 subwoofer, it is not recommended to use the power amplifier for other purposes. It is important to match the amplifier with the appropriate load (speaker) and signal source to avoid damaging the equipment or creating a safety hazard. Using the amplifier for other purposes may also void any warranty or insurance coverage.

Yamaha RX V2090 shut down in few seconds protect mode

If you have checked the outputs, driver transistors, and other components on the main board and everything appears to be fine, then the problem could be related to the power supply board. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the power supply board: Check the power supply board for any obvious signs of damage, such as burnt components or bulging capacitors. Test the power supply board's output voltages using a multimeter to ensure they are within the specified range. Check the power supply board's components, including the octocoupler, rectifiers, and capacitors, to make sure they are functioning properly. If you suspect that the power supply board is the problem, you can try replacing it with a new one to see if that resolves the issue. It is also possible that the problem is related to the DSP board or another area of the amplifier. If you cannot find a solution after checking the power supply board, you may need to take the amplifier to a professional repair technician for further diagnosis and repair.
