voltage regulator not producing volts for the exciter windings of the alternator

take it to a bike auto electrician for a charging system check that will include the voltage regulator which may be the problem

I purchased a Propane Generator from Central Maine Diesel a few years ago. 20 HP Honda engine, Italian generator head. Paid about $2300 plus shipping via Paradise Freight which was a few hundred. I see the price is just a bit higher now... But the one I want most is Yuchai which i saw from a website. Recently it blew a capacitor. Central Maine sent me 2 for the price of one even though it is out of warranty. $39 total for two. I looked at generators on island but a similar Honda at Quality electric was close to $6000 and it wasn't even a 13750kw. More like 8 or 9000kw if I remember right..... They have many generators at great prices but this is the one I settled for. However, it is said that the Cummins generator is more popular than others. Sounds like a governor issue. Check linkage to governor.

Try searching for a fuel shutoff somewhere near the bottom fuel line exit for the fuel tank on somewhere on the fuel line.

Verify the engine is running up to speed. Measure rpms or frequency of the output voltage. Freq should be 60hz +-1hz

10W-30 will be OK. Try not to overfill it. I use synthetic in all my small engines.

Since most generators are seldom used, gas left in the carburetor gunks up and stops up the passages. Take lots of pix of the assembly. Pull the carb, remove the bowl and spray carb cleaner in all the holes you see. Don't let it back spray into your eyes. Wear safety glasses. Some holes/orifices may need to have a soft wire passed thru them. Next time you store your generator, drain the gas, run the generator til all the gas is out of the carb. If you can get to the bowl w/o removing the carb, pull the bowl and spray the bowl and underside of the carb w/carb cleaner and reassemble.

It sounds like its running on the gas in the carburetor and not the gas filling back up to run more, I bet you have a gas supply problem to the carburetor! Try Babbitts Yamaha Partshouse online...

I guess your air cleaner needs cleaning , take air cleaner off and try it. Its starving on gas, may have water in gas tank and would cause this also or plug fuel filter if it has one..

The oil level may be too high check when you to take oil dip stick out, the oil level should be about 3/4 below the top of the threads..

I went to dealer ,there was a loose screw for the voltage on the rev regulator internally

Check the rubber line going to the carb, the clamp is bad for the hose
