If it starts by jumping the solenoid, then replace the solenoid.
If this does not do it, please reply back.

Dc light stays on when
When you turn the power button off, this turns off the motor, NOT the battery. There is a light switch, you can locate this in the owners manual. Turn this light switch off. If lights are still on then it will kill the battery. The power button does not turn off the BATTERY, just puts it in idle. This should be 100% the case if the light turns off when the battery is still connected. I would be glad to answer any more questions or details.
