with a timer like that , start here. Unplg it and have it in your hand. Pull up all the tabs. Push down the tabs from 7pm-6am. Now, find in the center ot the unit, the little arrow, turn till the correct time, the the right now is at the arrow. Plug in right away. As for the timer switch, timer on will work just as timer, push to outlet on will turn the lamp on manually. Also keep in mind that if the power goes you will have to realign the arrow with the actual time.

1 is input power 2 is neutral that is connected to load. screw 1 goes common and the neutral is connected. let me know exactly what you are trying to do, also are using 120 vac or 220vac this will be selected by dip switches. , they go common screw on relay side

That depends on the draw of what do you have plugged into it? Battery Backups are to allow you to shut down safely not run your computer/appliance for any length of time.
If you want a close answer, unplug and turn on the unit you want to run and use it as if you were wanting to use during an outage
