That's indeed a common issue with the older firmware versions. Please refer to: http://chall32.blogspot.nl/2009/06/digihome-dtr160-pvr-personal-video.html on howto get ahold of a newer firmware and flash it. Good luck !

HelloAre you sure the laser lens is clean? if not get a CD player cleaning kit from Walmart and clean the laser lens first. The kit is really easy to use read and follow the kits instructions. Also make sure the CDs are clean and not poor copies of the original. Thanks for using Fixya.

Also you have to go to your desktop right click with the mouse thern click on properties you will go to your display settings you should see 2 display squares 1 & 2. now you can clone or extend.
