Lever for toaster will not stay down
After taking the toaster oven apart to check why no voltage was applied to the circuit board for the electromagnet coil that holds the rack during toasting operation, I find this unit uses resistive voltage from the outside right heater assembly. The connection at the rear is very fragile and will fail when operated. The repair I used is an eye type electrical connector, crimp type, with a copper wire inserted before crimping the heater wire into the terminal. Use a small ***** with nut to attach back to the connection.(#4x1/2x32) I also used silver bearing solder to create a better connection to the ***** and board connector. 7 cents for parts, 15 minutes to actually repair once the condition was found. Not bad on a $100 toaster. Time will tell on the sustainability of the repair, but has run multiple cycles so far.
