Viking gas oven won't shut off

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with your Viking VGSC486-6Q gas oven where the gas continues to flow and the oven continues to heat even after the desired temperature has been reached. This can be a dangerous issue, as it can cause the oven to overheat and potentially start a fire. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the oven sensor: The oven sensor is responsible for measuring the temperature inside the oven and sending a signal to the control board to adjust the gas flow and heat as needed. If the sensor is not functioning properly, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try cleaning the sensor with a dry cloth and making sure it is securely connected to the control board.
  2. Check the control board: The control board is responsible for receiving the signal from the oven sensor and adjusting the gas flow and heat accordingly. If the control board is faulty, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try resetting the control board by unplugging the oven and plugging it back in, or you may need to replace the control board.
  3. Check the gas valve: The gas valve is responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the oven. If the gas valve is faulty, it can cause the oven to continue heating even after the desired temperature has been reached. You can try cleaning the gas valve and making sure it is securely connected, or you may need to replace the gas valve.
If none of these steps help resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have the oven repaired by a professional. It is important to address this issue as soon as possible, as it can be dangerous to use an oven that continues to heat even after the desired temperature has been reached.

Viking 4 burner stove. Burner caps are clean and properly placed. The two front burners are very low and will not adjust with the knob. I tried the adjustment screw to no avail. what next

Hi, you might need to get the 2 burners/knobs updated. You can schedule a diagnosis with Home Depot over the phone in order to get the burners and the knobs checked. Prior to that, try opening a window to let in more oxygen while running the 1 o 2 of the troubled burners. Thank you.

OVEN LIghT KEEPS BLINKING AND WILL NOT HEAT UP.

Hi, Please power cycle your over from your fusebox if possible. If this is not possible, then please take not of any pattern with the blinking of the oven lights. You can check if the oven door is cracked open or there is excess dirt within the oven. Before setting an appointment to check your gas connection, I would recommend searching for mention of the blinking pattern within the troubleshooting section of the oven's manual. Thank you.

I have a Viking pro model oven VGIC3064BSS that doesn't light fully

Viking Gas Range Burners Won't Light? Here's What To Do... We'll discuss how to properly check the power sources and igniter when your Viking gas range burners won't light. We'll also provide a step-by-step guide illustrating how to clean Viking range burners with the right methods and materials.

Check For Power And Loose Connections

Are your Viking stove burners not igniting on demand? This may be more of a power issue and not a range malfunction. Even though you have a gas range, electricity is still required to ignite the burner. Here's how to check your stove's electrical sources to make sure they're functioning properly:
  • Make sure the stove is correctly plugged into a functioning outlet.
  • Check the stove's circuit breaker or fuse in your home's circuit breaker or fuse box. Reposition a tripped breaker or replace a blown fuse.
  • Refrain from using an extension cord to power your range. Most cords can't safely transmit the electricity required to power the stove.

How To Clean Viking Range Burners

Despite our best efforts, cooking spills and accidents can leave range burners compromised. Liquids, grease, and grime that go unnoticed during a hasty post-dinner cleaning can impair range components, resulting in burners that won't light. This step-by-step guide provides Viking range cleaning tips that clean your burners and other stove components safely and effectively:

Grates:

Remove the grates and soak them in a sink of hot, soapy water for 15-20 minutes. For stubborn stains, add ammonia to the soaking liquid or scrub with Soft Scrub cleanser. Rinse with hot, soapy water and dry completely before replacing.

Burner Caps:

  1. Remove the caps by lifting straight upward.
  2. Scrub with hot, soapy water and a non-abrasive pad, using Soft Scrub cleanser for tougher stains.
  3. For persistent staining, place burner caps outside on a sheet of newspaper. Spray with Easy-Off Fume Free Max oven cleaner and allow to sit for 1-2 hours.
  4. Rinse with hot, soapy water.
  5. Allow caps to dry completely before replacing.

Burner Heads:

  1. Remove burner heads by lifting gently upward.
  2. Combine Bar Keeper's Friend and water to make a paste.
  3. Apply the paste to the burner head and leave for 30 minutes, resting on a clean towel.
  4. Scrub the paste into the burner head with a non-abrasive pad to remove stains.
  5. Rinse with hot, soapy water.
  6. Allow to dry completely.

I have a Viking gas oven and recently while on bake it automatically turns to convection. It has happened twice but I don't use the oven that often.

You have a problem that no one else has encountered. I would use the convection feature all the time as it keeps a much more even heat. Could it be that convection starts when the oven reaches temperature.? A model number would be useful in questions like this to find a manual. https://www.google.com/search?q=Viking+gas+oven+and+recently+while+on+bake+it+automatically+turns+to+convection ..

Fan stays on long after oven is shut off in brand

loads of ovens do this. It's a pain, especially if you eat in the kitchen. If you switch the appliance off and on at the wall it usually stops it. Why the fan stays on, god knows. pointless.

Oven Burners not lighting completely

It's the igniters. They increase in resistance as the elements age and decreases the current required to heat the spring element in the gas valve.

Replace both igniters.

Our Viking range is all

If it comes from the control panel, it may be a transformer for the control electronics or a relay coil. Sometimes a relay or transformer mounted on sheet steel will vibrate if a mounting screw works loose. That's easy to fix. Occasionally a coil inside the relay or transformer will develop a loose winding - the best repair for that is get a new one.

If the buzzing is specific to one (electric) burner, it could be arcing at a bad connection.
