I cant change my VT2230-M

I had the same problem. It appears to be due to a bad tv tuner. Turn on your computer and leave the coax unplugged. Leave it for a while (15-30 min). When you see "snow" on your screen, you will be able to use the source button to change to another input and see if you can get a signal. I am running my cable through a dvd recorder and using the AV input to watch tv. Also, my HDMI, component and RGB work fine. After thank don't try to access the TV source until you have had your tuner replaced.

ViewSonic VT2230 turns on, shows

Hi,
This kind of problem related to bad firmware saved in ROM that is part of main board so main board will be rpelaced to solve this issue.
It has nothing to do with power supply board that was replaced.
I'm not sure if main board is available some where as I could not locate it.
Thanks.

The tv wont work. whaqtever i try to do the screen

What you can try is replace low or dead batteries, if that doesn't solve the problem remove the batteries from the remote and unplug the t.v. Then press the the power button for 2 minutes on the t.v itself, this is what is known as a hard re-set. It will attempt to bring the device back to default values. On the remote itself do the same thing, with batteries out press the power on button for the same time period, this will drain the capacitors of extra power in them. Re-install the batteries and then plug back your set. When you turn the set back on do not do it from the remote, but from the set itself. See what effect that has, and if the screen comes back try with your remote.

When I plug in the HD cables into the side of my

My guess is that your source device is not outputting audio over HDMI. Probably is not the TV.
Try enabling the audio for HDMI in your source device on-screen menus.
Also try one of the other HDMI inputs on the TV on the rear, HDMI one and two and see if they work.
If that fails call

Check the power cord for electricity. IF YOU HAVE POWER TO THE TV, IT IS PROBABLY THE POWER SUPPLY.

Why my viewsonic lcd tv keeps on restarting

An internal component is most likely heat sensitive, shutting off, cooling of slightly, and then turning back on. The unit will have to be troubleshot. Call the store it was purchased from for options of repair. You can also contact Viewsonic suport here:

Some loca TV repair shops have mobile services, where they will fix it at your place. Look in the Yellow Pages for TV Repair.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

I have a viewsonic N3235W

Sounds like a failed or at least failing power supply / power board inside the TV. Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You can test the voltage output from the power supply if you wish... that will show if it is indeed the culprit which I think it is. If you don't want to mess with that you will want to contact a local TV repair person in your area if you are sure this is out of warranty, more on that in a bit here. This is actually the most common problem with this type of TV, I see it every day, it just happens - sometimes with new TVs and sometimes it takes many years for it to happen.

If you think it may still be under warranty please contact the manufacturer to file an RMA. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.

If you want to attempt the repair yourself please let me know and I will get you the part number and a place you can purchase it from for what you need.

So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally. Please reply to my answer here with any questions or comments and I can help you for sure...

Thanks
Tim

When I turn on the display, the ViewSonic logo

this is my problem too. i called viewsonic and explained my problem. They had me send it in. after waiting over a month for them to fix it, i recieve it in the mail. Out of the box i plug it in and turn the tv on and THE SAME EXCACT PROBLEM IT HAD WHEN I SENT IT IN HAPPENS AGAIN. It started doing this again. My solution would be not to buy viewsonic monitors/TVs. They never reply their emails and overall their service kinda sucks. sorry. There may be an easy fix to this but apparently the numerous people i talk to on customer service don't know how to fix the problem... BAD SERVICE

My HDTV keeps showing the starting screen of three

Hi.
Check all cables and connections. A shorted video cable can cause the TV freezing on startup.
Try disconnecting TV power cord for about fifteen minutes. This will drain power resetting the TV. Restart the TV with only one device attached.
If that does not work, then there is a fault concerning the digital controller board (main board) . Probably a firmware problem.
No software or firmware for the unit is available, therefore the fix must be corrected replacing the board, or fixed by Viewsonic.
Contact Viewsonic at the number listed on the owners manual to verify if the firmware is available, or to get a quote on repair.See Contact Us.

Here the Parts site,.
