I had the same problem, after a few seconds the VAC cut off try turning off the Brush Roll mine then stayed on. the problem is with the rotation brush in the bottom of the VAC you need to take the cap off the end of the brush (the side where you can see the metal pin) it is not easy to get off but it can be removed. if its like mine it will be full of hair, this makes it hard to rotate. once cleaned put the cap back on, put the rotating brush back and it should work. This has resolved my problem.

Although there are Vax Carpet cleaner YouTube videos about changing belts, I can't narrow down which one might apply to you. That said, the Vax support page offers a way to drill down into manuals after you supply a serial number which they show you how to find. You better use liquid soup with some vinegar, or something similar but never use bleach cause i used it for my last water tank and the result was a disaster. The plastic got greyed and shrinked. This happens more quickly with warm acidic water. The people that have success with plastic tanks seem to always have hard alkaline water but with hot water or bleach this leaching will damaged easily, i had to buy a new one I searched online and i had to ship a budget one with good quality from Brazil from an advanced company for plastic industries ( https://www.grabe.com.br/tanques-de-polipropileno.php ). Hard copies of manuals are a thing of the past! In these times of reducing waste you need to look on the manufacturers website for manuals or a CD that might have come with the product.

They're powered by the suction. Check that the brush switch is on. Otherwise, the brush head can be taken apart for cleaning. It's probably clogged up with hair, threads, etc wrapped around the shafts.

Bag full, filter clogged, vacuum hose blocked, or motor. If motor, usually will sound different. Gain access to the vacuum hose and use a flexible probe to ck for blockage.

Check if the water is full. If full of water drain the water. If not full, check the float switch of the vacuum. Repair or replace the defective part.
