UHF uniden uh089sx will not

Channel 23 and 24 are both telemetry and telecommand application channels and this paticular device will not allow you to transmit. Software can be used on some devices to change this and some other brands do not have this same function.

Hope this helps

My older hi-pro box will not work with my serial

I just set up a serial Hi-Pro box for one of my customers on their new laptop. According to Beltone, the only usb adapter that will work with the Hi-Pro (or at least the only one they have gotten to work) is a Belkin F5U409. I know some usb serial adapters don't use true serial communications if that makes any sense, so there isn't really a baud rate. They kind of just send out the communication in bursts...

In any case, ive only tried with the belkin adapter and that worked fine with no problems. The other point here is that your Hi-Pro and Adapter are on different com ports... This is odd, the hi-pro should be on the serial adpater's com port. Also the software i was using - Noah, with a beltone module for programming hearing aids.. only looked on com ports 1-3. The computer put the serial adapter on com 8 - which would not do. I checked for available com ports and saw that 2 was unused. I set the adapter to 2 and was able to set up the program normally.

I did this on Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit. The procedure for selecting the com port is the same on earlier versions of windows.

First, open device manager, open the list titled "Ports (COM and LPT)". You should see your serial adapter in there. Double click it. In the window that opens click the "ports" tab, and hit the button labeled "Advanced" In the window that opens there will be a drop down list to select a com port. Select the desired com port and hit ok. That should fix it.

My computer not detecting win1200

You may try uninstalling and reinstalling it again.
Try it on another computer usually that helps too so you can isolate the problem

How do i secure my internet?

hello,,,,,,,,,

The security of your connection to the internet is a two way street: your computer is happy to encrypt the data you send over the internet, but the server receiving the data needs to be happy to receive it. Most good websites do this automatically; and you’ll see a padlock in your address bar, or status bar, when this is happening.
However, you are more than likely talking about a wireless network. In which case, you’ll want to take a few steps to secure it.
1. Turn off SSID broadcasting. This stops your router from telling all and sundry about itself.
2. Turn on WPA. If your router supports this security setting, then use it over WEP.
3. (optional, really) Turn on MAC address filtering. This means that your router will only let certain devices (which you have to specify) connect to it.

you van use proxy, with proxy you can surf anonymously, to find out where you can find proxy sites just google it or go to
http://hubpages.com/hub/proxy-list

or

Add a password to your wireless connection.
You can do so by typing “192.168.1.1” on your address bar and then log in with the factory default :
username: admin
password: password
From there on, browse through the settings to find the option to set up a password for the router

hope this help you...

Key I was provided with on installation does not

Wireless keys can be INDIVIDUAL or group.

You need to work out which you are using and might have to assign a new individual key to other computers on your network.
This is quite possibly the reason you cannot use the key from one computer on another.

You should consult your system administrator for this information

Problem connecting old dell latitude to buffalo router

OK, I see. No wonder it has been tricky compared with the laptop! I'll do what I can to help, though I am more 'helpful neighbour' than expert here. :)

First, I'd want to double check the adapter is installed and working. The Device Manager should help.

In the Control Panel, click the 'System' icon. On the System Properties box, click the Hardware tab. You should see a 'Device Manager' icon on the screen: click that if necessary to bring up a list of hardware devices (see screenshot here). Assuming there is a 'network adapters' icon on the right hand screen, click any '+' signs you might see to view which network adapters are installed on the laptop.

If you do see your wireless adapter there, are there any red crosses or yellow exclamation marks to be seen? Can you right click and select 'properties' ...if so, does Windows show any messages about the adapter?

If everything is OK, you will need to connect to your network using Dlink's own utility, which you should find in Start > Programs. I can't be more specific without the model number, but hope this moves things another step forward.

However, if you don't see the wireless adaptor, or there is a problem with this or anything else....please come back to Fixya...

Uniden Win 1200

I had the same problem, but good thing I bought three of them. The first one worked right out of the box, the second one wouldn't come up for about two days and the third one took several days before it would turn itself on. My opinion is that the batteries are really flat from being on the shelf for so long before they are sold and have "memorized" that condition.

I went to the Uniden site and their FAQ don't really address much about this product, wish they would expand it somewhat.

Good luck and keep on trying to charge the batteries.
