If this is a new router that you want to setup on your modem, in order for it to work fine the router and modem should be connected by a cable.

From modem going to the Internet/AN port of the router and then your computer can be connected to the remaining port of the router.

If you ever lose your settings or if your settings are changed and the router is not functioning properly, you can come to this area to restore your saved settings from the backup file you created. Click Browse to locate the backup settings file you previously created. When you have located it, click Restore and the settings saved within this file will be applied to the router. If you did not create a backup file, you may need to restore the factory default settings.
Factory Settings If you ever want to erase all personal settings of your router, come to this area and click Reload to restore the factory default settings. All the current settings will be lost. If you change the router's configuration and it stops functioning properly you can reload the factory settings to fix it.

Please do the below steps.

1. Check the status of the wireless router . is it power ON and working ?
2. Check the wireless adapter status on the PC
3. Check for the proper drivers for the wireless adapter. If possible reinstall the drivers

hi yes it is very easy to do, just use a thin tool like a paper-clip or something similar, on the back of the router there is a small recess, push the tool in the reset hole for 30 seconds this will reset the router to its factory default settings, just enter router by usual way and redo all the required settings...hope this helps

You can use any router. All routers these days comes with a DHCP server feature built-in. However, you have to ensure your desktop is set to receive ip address and dns dynamically from the DHCP server.

However, if you wish to have the same ip address always but dynamically assigned by the DHCP server and not a static ip addres, you need to go for a router that provides static dhcp ip address.

You may check Linksys, where you could find one of their model which has this Static DHCP feature.

Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on wireless->wireless security ->wep security enable it then enter code it is your password to connect wireless save settings and restart router. . its mistake of power

Try to reset your modem and router by unplugging them from the back, the adapters. Plug the modem back in first and then the router. They will take a minute to come back up then try to connect again. If this doesnt work try the following. Go to start and type in cmd in the search bar. It will bring up a black box with a C: in this space type in the following.. ipconfig /release it will go through a short process and bring you back to the C: again. Next type in ipconfig /renew this will renew your ip address. Type exit and see if you are getting your signal. Between the 2 of thses things, one or both of them should get you back connected. What did you set the IP to? IP addresses are assigned manually or automatically by your network. You should be able to access it with 192.168.0.254 or 127.0.0.1. If your network is set for DHCP it assigns the IP automatically. If it isn't then someone assigned an IP manually and if that is teh case only that person would know what IP range they used.

1.Log into router. Using either 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 in a browser window that is ( internet Explorer or Firefox)
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) ( router status window)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.
8. check for firmware update at the manufacturers site for your model router
9. cell phones, cordless phones, digital TV's, can affect the data signal from a router. Also distance from the router can be a factor. If your router is in a basement place the router to a upper floor and center it in the room.

Typically, a good router will allow you to configure it only bvia a wired connection, to prevent unauthorized remote users trying to hack it.
Please try using a network cable (patch cord) to connect to the router's LAN socket directly and attempt reconfiguration then.

Push and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Unplug the power cable and press the reset button for another 30 seconds. Reconfigure the router again

to get back ur default password u have to rest ur router.

You need to log into the wireless router either by a computer that successfully connects wirelessly or by physically connecting with an ethernet cable. Once connected, log into the router by open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari), and typing the router's address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the Address (or URL) line. The default usernameand password is usually "admin" & "admin" or "admin" & "password". Once successfully logged in, look for a tab or link that says "Wireless" or "Security". You'll be able to change whether security is enabled or disabled, and the password associated with it. Your security options are WEP or WPA (or WPA-PSK). WPA-PSK is the most secure, but WEP is also an acceptable choice. Select the security option of your choice and either enter text into the passphrase generator or choose your own password and type it into one of the security key text fields. If you use a password that is not a plain english combination of letters and numbers, be sure to write it down so that you can enter it as needed on other wireless devices that need to access your router (ie-pda phones, game consoles, laptops, desktops, etc). Be sure to save changes so that the security settings and password is saved.
