That is pretty typical. If you want to mount it to the window, then make sure the glass surface is completely clean. A generous amount of saliva on the suction cup will keep it up on the glass for a while. You are better off using the adhesive backed suction cup disks and mount it to your dashboard.

Go to the TomTom website. Download and install the Home Application (if you did not get a CD_rom with your device).

Get the TomTom software and connect your SA to the computer, they will sell you map updates

take the tomtom to jaycar or other electronic shop to identify the usb end and they will be able to help

Click the Windows Start button and then click Documents. Open the following folder: TomTom > HOME > Download > complete > map. You see a folder with the name of the map you were trying to install, for instance Europe or United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland. Open this folder.

Hi, Answers to your 2 questions 1 and 2 . ...... 1/ go into PREFERENCES , hit right arow key till you see MANAGE MAPS , Tap that MAP icon and in there will be all the maps you have on the SD card. Select the map you require by tapping the screen. ............................................. 2/ YES , backup the SD card to your PC first. ( you should save everything on the card as it is ) Then delete the Europe map off the SD card and replace it with the USA map . You will need the authorisation code for the USA map in order to activate it. When you return you can swap the maps back again.

Hope this helps looks like you haveto pay for map updates after 30 days, but I am not positive.

On some other devices with model names ending in T, M, or TM you have free traffic (T) for life, Maps (M) , or free Traffic and maps (MT) for the useful life of the device. Outside of theses cases there are no free map downloads. Visit the TomTom site to use and free map update that your device qualifies for.

U go to their website and download whatever updates are available for your product. Software updates are free but newer maps will have to be paid for.

First enable bluetooth function under the menu options. (if not bluetooth menu button is seen you will need to tap the "show all menu buttons" button in the menu)

once bluetooth is enabled follow the prompts that the One XL gives you to connect device.
Please make sure your device is in discoverable mode (blinking blue and red) during the process.

The pairing number for my BT-359 is "0000"
