This Le Locle is new, not sure if it was overwound

Your watch is an automatic type and it should therefore not be possible to overwind it.

Automatic watches thrive on use but if they are unused for mor than 2-3 days they will stop.

The watch should start again if you wave it gently from side to side for a few minutes ( between 100 and 200 times; this operates the self winding mechanism). To maintain operation the watch should be worn daily.

If you haven't got a set of user instructions, go to http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_collections/action_getsubfamilies/colid_0005/famid_0039/refid_T41_1_483_53 and click on "user instructions" to get them.

Bought a 1970s tissot automatic

A self winding watch will run for 2-3 days if it is not worn (they thrive on being used) and it sounds as if you have not been using it; is this the case?

It could be that the winder does not operate on the spring (some watches don't), so to wind it up you need to activate the self winding mechanism.

You can do this by gently swinging the watch from side to side for a few minutes. This will simulate the normal operation when it is being worn.

If you continue to have trouble with it stopping, it could be that it needs cleaning. I had a similar problem with a watch I had some years ago.

Need to sync digital and analog screens?

There are instructions on here and in the tissot website. However in basic layman terms here goes...

Press central button and hold for 5 seconds til 2nd beep heard. press centre of glass to show 24hr CM display. Sync will appear in LCD window. Then press top button (mins hand) until hand at 12 exactly. Then press bottom button( hrs) and again hold til at 12 exactly then press centre button. This hould fix sync.

My problem is that I changed my 4 year old battery today and at first heard a beep, removed battery as fiddley closure of base and redid battery. Now I have nothing at all. Could i have possibly shorted out the watch and what do I do now?

Hi, My Tissot touch watch quit, it was just over 2

If the Jewellery Store was not an Authorised Tissot Repair Centre then it is likely that they have made a mistake - the T-Touch is the only watch in the world that has a touch screen - so they may not be very familiar with it.
It may be going into setup mode because there has been a new battery just installed - go through the procedure and see if it works. - Pretend it is like brand new and you have to set it up for the first time.

Hello, I just open my Tissot

I found another fellow on the web that changed his battery out, then it wouldn't come on, and he took it to a watch repair service, and they informed him it would be more to fix than buy a new one.
I suspect that the push button switch was orginally dirty, or partially oxidized, but it's also possible that the battery contacts, themselves, are oxidized. I would normally advice taking it in to an expert, since this is an upper end watch, and see what they think. If they feel the cost would be too much, I would try to take apart, and clean the battery contacts inside the watch with a qtip and alcohol, and then spray a bit of electrical contact cleaner on the push button switch (they're hard to get out to clean, and I just spray them).
I would at least have a jeweler check it out and give you an estimate or advice, then go from there.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

How do I change the time on the tissot 1853 touch

  1. Locate the screw on the side of the watch face. This screw is what you will use to set the time on your watch. Water-resistant watches have a screw-type crown, and the screw must be turned toward the body (unscrewed) before it can be pulled out for further use. If the watch is not water-resistant, the unscrewing is unnecessary.
  2. 2 Pull the screw gently outward. The screw can be pulled outward in two positions. The first position sets the date and day. Pull the screw out farther (into the second position) to set the time.
  3. 3 Turn the screw either clockwise or counterclockwise to move the minute and hour hands to the desired time. Push the screw all the way in (and turn it away from the body if you have the water-resistant model) when you are finished.
    Digital Watch
  4. 1 Locate the three buttons on the side of the watch face. These are the buttons used to set the time. The top button is the "+" indicator for increasing the numbers. The bottom button is the "-" indicator for decreasing numbers. The center button is to activate the setting mode.
  5. 2 Press the center button in for one second. The watch will beep.
  6. 3 Press the top "+" button for two seconds. After the watch beeps, you can begin setting the time.
  7. 4 Press either the "+" button or the "-" button (depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the numbers) to set the time.
  8. 5 Press the center button when you are finished. The watch will beep. This validates the setting. The seconds will revert to zero.
