would you consider it a knock or a tick, does it have the 3.8L engine or what? Does it sound like it is coming from all over the engine or just in one place? How many miles on the van?

I'm not completely sure how all the chips work, but if the chip is not activated, the engine will run for 3 seconds, then shut down. It will only do this 4 or 5 times, then it will not start at all. If this is happening, then you need to have the key chipped to match the ignition/van.

You will need to pull the beauty covers off the top of the engine and you should be able to see the leak. I am not sure what size engine you are asking about but if the coolant is running out as soon as you put it in there must be a stream of water coming out of the leak. Just guessing it must be a rubber hose either from the radiator or the heater hoses. Hope this helps.

If your car is under warranty stop by a dealer and have them check the ground strap. but other than that it could be a loose connection on either the ground or the red side of the battery. make sure they are clean too and tight. also check online for any open recalls on that issue.

I'd start by fitting a set of new spark plugs and maybe plug wires too. It might also improve your gas mileage. I'm assuming that the 2000 engine doesn't have coil over plug ignition. If it does that makes it more expensive to change the coil packs. Obviously there can be other causes but you need workshop resources to do a full investigation.
