Though the following didn't show for me, it got me to an area where I could have a sound played when the Caps Lock key was pressed.

Use Shift Key to Disable the Caps Lock Key. Open the Region and Language control panel. ... Enable the Caps Lock key, and instead of pressing it again to disable it, just press the Shift key. Most keyboards will have an indicator light to let you know whether it's on or off.

You could try the "forgot password" link and enter your own email address for the reset email.
Are you wanting to keep anything stored in the laptop's memory? If you don't you can factory reset the laptop to it's original settings when new.
**NOTE** The factory reset will delete EVERYTHING that was not on the laptop when it was bought new! This means all videos, music, photos and documents will be lost once it has been started! So be sure you want to do this BEFORE you start.
Try the following,
Plug the laptop into a wall socket to prevent it going flat during this process.
It could take two to three hours to do this.
Turn on the Laptop. On the sign-in screen in the bottom right corner there is three small icons. Press and hold the Shift key, (might be marked as Pause). It's the long button above the 4 arrow keys. Click on the icon that's nearest the corner of the screen. A box appears with your power options. Still holding the Shift Key click 'Restart'. You should get a blue screen with 3 boxes. Select 'Troubleshoot'. Select 'Reset this PC'. Select 'Remove Everything'. Select 'All Drives'. Select 'Fully Clean the Drive'.
**NOTE** The next step CANNOT be changed once you start!!
The screen will show "Reset this PC" with 2 buttons, 'Clean this PC' and 'Cancel'. Clicking the 'Clean' button starts the reset.
Once complete the laptop will ask for various basic settings like language and keyboard settings. This is where you can set the laptop up for your own use.
Hope this helps.
Try this YouTube link BEFORE you start.
