Changed the lithium battery 6 weeks ago it was
Remove the batteries and clean both ends of the batteries with a pencil eraser. Do the same with the contact points in the scale. This should help. Bathrooms are damp, you may want to set it elswhere for reliable use.

I am very well under the maximum weight and I keep getting the Err message. Just not a quality sale.

1. Turn the unit on.
2. At the same time, press and hold the "G" button and the power button.
3. While continuing to hold down the "G" button, release the power button.
4. Release the "G" button.

My scale just went blamk and wont show numbers
Hello. when the scale goes blank it is time to change the batteries. Turn the scale over and you will see the battery compartment. Take the batteries to Radio Shack or Walmart and get the same in the new ones. Then be sure to install them correctly regarding the polarity [ the + and the -]
please rate my answer as very helpful. thank you.
Jennifer looked at the data claiming an 88%
Yes she is right...
For every application or activity (1) of the product , 0.88 steps of the application or activity remains perfect. The rest cannot be assured.
When trhis is considered for 100 activities done by the product , 88steps of the activity is done perfectly.
So that implies product can do the activity which has 88/100 steps as success .
88/100=88%
Scales are getting a Err 1 message, installed new batteries
My scale was fine the other day. I weighed myself earlier in the day. I tried to weigh myself later in the day and the scale started reading ERR1. I called Taylor and they had me try to "reset" the scale twice. It did not work.
The steps for resetting it are:
Turn the scale over
Remove the batteries for at least 10 seconds
With the scale on it's side (even though you aren't supposed to put the scale on it's side, carefully insert the batteries and put the back on the scale
Slowly return the scale to a flat hard surface
Step on the scale after about 10 seconds of it being back in position
If the scale still jumps with crazy numbers and reads ERR1 try to reset the scale again being very careful when the scale is on it's side
If this does not correct the problem then the scale will need to be returned to the manufacturer, to the address on the label on the bottom of the scale
I was told you could put the scale in any box and ship it to them the cheapest way possible but be sure to keep the batteries with you
If you are still under the year warranty they will send you out a new scale in 4-6 weeks
I was not happy that my scale was purchased on 11/14/09 and it died on 02/12/10. Luckily I knew where my receipt was. I pulled it out and noticed 02/12/10 was the last date to make returns to Target for that transaction. I was able to go and return my scale to the store because it was in the 90-day window that I had purchased it.
I was told that the reason the scale was doing this was either an delayed electrical interference that may have occurred during. The only other reason I was given was an OVERLOAD. Well, I seriously doubt an overload was my issue. First of all I was the only person at home that day so nobody else stood on the scale. I had used it earlier in the day and it was accurate. I am 5'6" and 139 lbs. so I seriously doubt it was OVERLOAD unless someone isn't telling me something and I need to lose some serious weight.
Anyway, I hope this helps. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out that day. Now I have my new receipt and if this happens again I will go get my new scale just as I did this time. I thought a 4-6 week wait for a replacement scale was insane. Kudos to Target for taking the scale back without a box or instructions on the last day I was able to make a return.
