Top burners wont light
check to see if you hear a clicking noise when trying to light a burner. if not then you need to replace your spark module. very simple to install. just remeber your wires.
Oven does not light
Try this:
. See if the ignitor is in the direct path of the gas. If not move it slightly to be closer to that path. Maybe something his it and it is out of position. Gas + Glow(together) = Fire
The other possibility is that somethng in in the path of the gas leading to the glow coil.

Tappan Electric Oven
I have a Tappan double oven range. An older model #316065301
How do I operate the cleaning cycle? I set the start and stop times, Locked the door and switched to clean. The clean light comes on but it doesn't heat up much at all. Never locks. I have misplaced my instructions manual.
Any help would be appreciated.

Burners and oven will not heat
Something is stopping the gas flow. Turn off gas. Disconnect line from the stove have someone turn on and off the the gas just for a second.(make sure no flame in room). See if gas is available. If not it is the gas line leading into the house somewhere, not the stove. Follow the piping to the first thng it comes to. Disconnect that line and see if it is open from there back to the connection. If you finally get to the valve, which I dont think you will . You will have to disassemble or replace it.
Can I still light an oven even if the electric pilot doesnt work
Looks like your oven has a "glow" coil. That being the case, you will not be able to light the oven without power. It has to glow to open the valve, and there is no override for this. Sorry.
About the cord, you could install a plug on the cord, or simply replace the cord. (I realize you say you are trying to get one). Other than this, turkey on the grill is always good.

Glow plug on oven
Yes. Igniter stays on from just before ignition until just prior to burner shut down with each burn cycle.
