Adding a video card

if you have a video VGA plug on back of your computer and it is not an added card, then it is built in. You can disable most on-board video via settings in the rom bios.

Where can I find a manual?

I stumbled across a site awhile ago with all of the syntax mobo stuff. It's not active anymore, but the archived version seems to be pretty complete.

SV266A Motherboard

Focus on getting your network card driver. Once you get that, you can download the others on your desktop. I can't tell you where to find it because I would need the make and model of your pc. If it's Dell for example, go to the Dell.com website and go to support. Enter you make/model and find driver downloads. Then download the appropriate driver for you NIC.

Hey there,

You dont have to worry about anything.

go to you manufacturer web site in the search pane type your M/B Model no. And download the drivers. this is the best way to download.

else Go to google and type for "download Drivers for .........Your m/b Model no". Select one of the site who are providing drivers.

Motherboard

New motherboards cost like 35 pounds, so repair is out of the question, when replacement will give you up to date technology, and much more features.

I can see your motherboard supports only 'AGP' video cards, which are both older, of lower performance, and quite often more expensive. If you choose to upgrade your motherboard, choose one with 'PCI-Express' video card capability.

In addittion, your board supports only Intel Socket 478 CPU's, these are beginning to show their age in performance terms now, so I'd suggest you consider a CPU & Motherboard bundle, which saves you money, and you can even get one that can use your old DDR memory from the other motherboard.

As a video card choice, there is only ATI, and Nvidia chips out there, so if ATI, you need at least an X1900 series or better, if Nvidia, you need at least an 8700 GT series or better.

Good luck.
