Sun Computers & Internet - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

1) You needed a hat
2) You needed to apply sun screen every couple of hours.
3) Not all sun screens are equal.
4) The primary way to avoid sun damage is to stay out of the sun light. One day, people will walk around under umbrellas because of that.
5) Putting aside all the fraudulent claims of skin lighteners (might as well try lemon juice), beauty therapists can subject you to several treatments of a laser like device. It will sting your wallet more than your face. But you have to keep out of the sunlight following treatment or you are wasting your time. If you think you will be able to wander around for half an hour directly exposed to the sun, you are dead wrong. It will undo any therapy. Other than this method and some self-discipline, you would have to resort to makeup, something like Thin Lizzy.

Sun damage is such an issue in Australia that they have a slogan: Slip, slap, slop referring to preparation to go out in the sun. Hope you are wearing sun glasses.

Handling character strings in Java is supported through two final
classes: Java String and StringBuffer. The String class implements immutable character strings, which are read-only once the string has been created and initialized, whereas the StringBuffer class implements dynamic character strings. All string literals in Java programs, are implemented as instances of String class. Strings in Java are 16-bit Unicode.

The Java Game Development Tutorial After a lot of hard work, we have made it to finish the English version of the tutorial. As I said, you should be already able to program in Java, although you don't have to be a expert! The tutorial will give you a very detailed introduction into the development of online games using Java. We will talk about Java Applets because everyone has a Internet browser, so everyone is able to play these games without installing the JDK! The first 5 chapters will lead you from the basic structure of a applet to the development of a whole (although pretty small) game. The next chapters (6 - ...) will give you solutions to problems like AI, level editors, random generation of landscapes... . At the end of every chapter you'll find a link to download the sourcecode of the applet we programmed in this chapter and you can take a look at the working applet too. Alright, here we go!
  • Basic structure of an applet
  • Animation
    1. Move a ball
    2. Double buffering
    3. Ball bouncing and change the direction
  • Sound and Gif's
    1. Using sound in applets
    2. Using pictures in applets
  • Event handling in applets
    1. Mouse events
    2. Keyboard events
  • The first complete game
    1. Outline of the program and structure of classes
    2. Random movement of the ball
    3. Hit a ball by clicking on it
    4. Count score and loose lifes
    5. Change the mouse pointer
    6. Start the game after double clicing on the applet
  • Advanced topics
    1. Artificial intelligence for a pong like game
    2. Generation of random 2D landscapes
    3. Leveleditor

Your client software attempts to connect to a MySQL database instance on your local computer. There is no DB server running locally, hence the error.

Before reinstalling Windows, did you connect to a remote DB server or did you use a local instance?
In former case, you need to configure the DB connection to point to the remote serve. In the latter case, on top of Windows you also need to reinstall the MySQL DB server software locally, and it needs to be started.
