How to troubleshoot a frozen evap coil on a hussman rfln5 ,I have several doing the same thing at differant stores and there all only 3 yrs old

  1. Refrigerant charge: If the refrigerant charge is too low, the evaporator coil will not absorb heat effectively, causing the coil to freeze.
  2. Airflow: If airflow across the evaporator coil is restricted, the coil will freeze. This could be caused by dirty air filters, clogged condenser coils, or fan failure.
  3. Defrost system: If the defrost system is not functioning properly, the evaporator coil may freeze. This could be due to a faulty defrost timer, a defective defrost thermostat, or a clogged drain line.
  4. Compressor: If the compressor is not running properly, it may not be able to pump refrigerant through the evaporator coil, causing the coil to freeze.
To troubleshoot a frozen evaporator coil, you should start by checking the refrigerant charge and verifying that the unit has proper airflow. If the refrigerant charge is low, you should have it recharged by a licensed HVAC technician. If the airflow is restricted, clean the air filters and check the condenser coils for any blockages. If the defrost system is not working properly, replace the defrost timer or thermostat, and clean the drain line. If the compressor is not running, it may need to be replaced

Hi i have a defy f640 SS fridge...the fridge side works fine...but the freezer side is not cooling...please help

Hi, Please ensure that you're using a compressor that is compatible with your fridge. You can compare your newer compressor to the one that was originally installed to your fridge. If the newer part number is different from that of your older compressor, then you might want to swap it for the exact model of your old compressor. Otherwise, you could use a handyman from Angi or Home Depot in order to overcome the issue. Thank you.

WSE6200WA CL code on the control panel

A "CL" code on the control panel of your WSE6200WA refrigerator typically indicates a communication error between the control board and the freezer sensor. The freezer may not be working as a result. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
  1. Check the sensor: Locate the freezer sensor, it should be located near the freezer compartment. Check for any visible damage or disconnection. If the sensor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
  2. Check the wiring: Check the wiring between the control board and the sensor for any damage or lose connections. Make sure all connections are clean and tight.
  3. Check the control board: If the sensor and wiring are fine, the problem may be with the control board. The control board may need to be replaced if it is malfunctioning.
  4. Check the power supply: Make sure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. Also, check the voltage, it should be around 115V-125V
  5. Try unplugging the refrigerator for a minute and then plugging it back in, this will reset the control board and might fix the issue.
It is important to note that troubleshooting and repairing a refrigerator can be dangerous, so it's important to follow safety precautions and make sure you are familiar with the appliance before attempting to fix it yourself. If you are not comfortable working on your own, or if the problem persists, it is recommended to contact a qualified technician for repair.

I have a fridgidaire gallery 4 door fridge. I have an error message with an upside down F 4. Temperatures are fine. Not sure what the problem is

he upside down "F" error code on a Frigidaire refrigerator typically indicates a fault with the freezer fan. The fan is responsible for circulating air throughout the freezer compartment, so if it's not working properly, it can cause the temperature to rise and trigger the error code. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the fan blade for any obstructions, such as ice or debris. If there is something blocking the fan, remove it.
  2. Make sure the fan blades can spin freely. If they are obstructed or damaged, the fan may not be able to circulate air properly.
  3. Check the fan motor and its wiring for any damage or loose connections. If you find any issues, contact a professional for repair.
  4. If the fan motor appears to be working fine, the control board or the temperature sensor may be the cause of the problem. In this case, it is recommended to contact a professional for repair.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, I would recommend contacting a professional for further assistance.

Outside door lights on/ inside off, and ice/ water dispenser not working

If your outside door lights are on and inside lights are off, and your ice/water dispenser is not working, there may be an issue with the power supply to your refrigerator. Here are some possible solutions you can try:
  1. Check the power outlet: Ensure that the refrigerator is properly plugged into the power outlet and that the outlet is functioning properly. Try plugging another appliance into the same outlet to see if it works.
  2. Check the circuit breaker: Check the circuit breaker to see if it has been tripped. Reset it if necessary.
  3. Check the refrigerator cord: Inspect the refrigerator cord for any signs of damage or wear. If the cord is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  4. Check the door switch: The door switch turns the light on and off when the door is opened and closed. If the switch is faulty, it may cause the inside light to not turn on. Check if the switch is functioning properly.
  5. Check the water supply: The ice/water dispenser may not be working if there is no water supply. Check if the water supply valve is turned on and if the water line is properly connected to the refrigerator.
If none of these solutions work, it may be a more serious issue with the refrigerator that requires professional repair. In that case, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support or a qualified technician for assistance.

My Tantung refrigerator frosts up every two weeks. I'm sure it's the timer from Google research but am unsure where the timer is, to see if it's working, and if that's really the problem?

If your Tantung refrigerator is frosting up every two weeks, it could indeed be a problem with the defrost timer. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot the issue: Locate the defrost timer: The defrost timer is usually located in the refrigerator's control panel or behind the kick plate at the bottom of the unit. Check your refrigerator's manual for specific instructions on how to access the defrost timer. Check the timer: Use a multimeter to check the continuity of the defrost timer. Set the multimeter to the lowest resistance scale and touch the probes to the terminals of the timer. If the meter reads zero ohms, the timer is working properly. If the meter reads infinite resistance, the timer is faulty and needs to be replaced. Check the defrost heater and thermostat: If the timer is working properly, the issue may be with the defrost heater or thermostat. Use a multimeter to check the continuity of these components, following the same process as for the defrost timer. Replace faulty components: If any of the components are found to be faulty, they will need to be replaced. Be sure to disconnect the refrigerator from the power source before replacing any parts. If you are not comfortable with troubleshooting and repairing appliances, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician for assistance.

GST-40DR not cooling. Cleaned out the coils and hard rest. After a day or 2 it starts to go up in temperature of 42. Any help on repairing and what to get?

It's possible that the issue with your GST-40DR not cooling properly could be due to a number of factors, such as a low refrigerant charge, a malfunctioning compressor, or a faulty expansion valve. I would recommend having a professional HVAC technician diagnose and repair the issue, as they have the proper tools and experience to handle the job. If you're looking to purchase parts for the repair, I would recommend providing the technician with the model and serial number of your unit so they can determine the exact parts needed. Some common parts that may need to be replaced include the compressor, the expansion valve, and the fan motor. Keep in mind that attempting to repair a refrigeration system without the proper training and tools can be dangerous and may result in further damage to the unit or injury to yourself.
