I have a genesis iron,it lights when it is on but does not become hot .it stays cold.What might be the problem?

Question edited for clarity, guessing your iron is a 'Rowenta' and not a 'Rowner'. You need a multimeter to test the element for continuity and the switch / thermostat for correct operation. Question edited into English. Either the element has failed, or the rotary temperature switch is broken. The water pump is mechanical and not related to the iron not working. ..

It is damaged in side and could be dangerous , do not use till it repaired or replaced .

Sounds like a seal has blown. Time for a new iron, I would say.
