Wireless mouse and keyboard are supposed to work on chromebook. It is supposed to work just by inserting USB dongel in port. If won't work, test it on a Windows or Mac computer. On mine, you have to lift the top back section up to reveal a compartment. Insert a thumbnail or letter opener at the point and lift up. It's right below where it says "Staples."

On the one I have, you put your thumbnail or letter opener at the back of the mouse right below where it says "Staples," at the point, and lift up. It's on the top of the mouse, and it is a little "door."

For which operating system? I doubt it requires a driver on windows.

On the top of the mouse at the very back, where the top comes to a point, slip your fingernail under that point and pry upwards. This opens the battery door. It is not on the bottom, nor does it slide.
