On your systems remote control press the tuner and the band buttons to choose either am or fm and then press tune button to pick which station you want and press the memory buttons and press the preset button and then press enter.

there may be 2 possibles 1, the pinch roller is not going down and staying in the fixed when during playback, easy way to check power down the unit, press play and see if it looks firm, it will push back, if working right if its loose, it may well have come off a little sping, and may well be an easy ish fix, by someone who know about cassette decks, 2, the speed adjustment has failed, there will be an internal speed control, which keeps the playback at a correct speed, if this has failed it may be fixable, but only by someone who can take it to bits and remove and solder a new one in, and they are very small and Sony items i have had have failed on speed control! too for me its a junker box good luck

The power supply board and something could of had quit working on the power supply board also.Or it might of had stopped working.

Check the needle, if its not that then you can check the tracking, the relationship between downward weight on the needle and lateral movement across the record. you will need the manual for the instructions
It can be tricky so if you are not sure then consult a good hifi shop or tech.

Hi, Please shutdown your device, remove all the wires connected to the sony device and then turn the device back on again. Watch to see if the issue occurs again. And if not, please add all of your wires back. Thank you.

tell all things connected, and did not(in detail or photos) what are you plugging in.(all) I can buy endless speaker systems and no 2 are the same. no speakers told, (hardwired, amplified, or what?,) bad speakers, or bad RCA cables. bad RCA output jacks on rear of g88 (preamps bad) or PC end failing, if I knew all you had there all makes and models and connections exact told , I can in fact tell you tests to do.

Does this happen on Turntable or on the other components ? Turntable should have a seperate grounding wire that should be connected to receivers grounding screw on back side.
If the problem not the turntable but other component i.e;DVD,CD or cassette ,please check your stereo cables that one of them-even one channel, L or R - could be broken/damaged and should be replaced..MAke sure to replace one by one to localize the broken cable..good luck...

There are two fuses on one of the circuit boards, they have blown. Unplug from power and remove metal cover. Note the position of cover before removing the four screws. Use thin nose pliers to remove fuses from fuse clips. It's easier if you disconnect the black and white connectors on circuit board, they're just above the fuse holders. Replace with BOJACK T4AL250V 5x20 mm 4A 250V, these are available on amazon. Replace black and white connectors if you disconnected them. In future, when plugging in device to line in connector ensure power is off.
