Skipping as to spaces in typing. usually lubrication, what is called the escapment under the keyboard is usually sticking. It works like a rocker one tooth goes to what is called the star wheel, moves one space and the second tooth catches it. Usually spary that are with WD40. If it works you need to lightly spru with spay oil or silicone. could be broken teeth also on gears and what is called escapment rack, good luck.

First, backspace to the mistaken character. You slip the correction tape in the middle of the platen where the type hits, then type the same character, pull out the correction tape, backspace and type the correct character.
