The noise you are hearing is probably coming from the power supply to the wireless microphone system. I would suspect a "ground-loop" problem. (Google that if necessary ) Best course of action would be to MUTE that channel on the mixer OR find the source of your "ground-loop" problem.

Sorry, it can not. the AMS mics used a very unique powering scheme and was an unbalanced signal.

It sounds like the pots have become dirty or bad. I believe these are sealed pots, so you might need to replace them. It's probably easiest to send the mixer to Shure to have them replace the pots.

Sorry, it's not possible to adjust the frequency of the L4 wireless receiver. These were single frequency, crystal controlled systems. To change the frequency would require changing a dozen components on the board and then retuning the filters on the receiver board to work with this new frequency.
