MASTER RESET
Master reset: Clears all the memory and initializes each preset parameter. The master reset should be performed by using the following procedure.
1. Turn off the power (Power OFF). (See Note 1.)
2. Remove the memory back up battery from ECR.
3. Turn the mode switch to any position other than Power OFF.
4. Turn on the power (Power ON). (See Note 2.) When the master rest is completed, the buzzer sounds three times.
5. Install the memory back up batteries back into the ECR. The master reset can also be accomplished in the following case. (See Note 3.)
Note 1) Power OFF: Means disconnecting the AC power supply to the machine. (Specifically, unplugging the machine.)
Note 2) Power ON: Means connecting the AC power to the machine. (Specifically, plugging in the machine.)
Note 3) In case a power failure occurs when the machine has no battery installed, the master reset operation is automatically performed after the power has been restored.

All my register will is beep
If the beep is happening every second or so with out you touching it, the printer has a fault. If it happens when you press buttons, try this: If you press clear (CL) and press some of the numeric buttons, you should see numbers appear on the display. If not, probably a keyboard fault. If you can get numbers but just a beep when you press a department (item button) then you are not logged in. Enter your secret PIN number and press the CASH# (cashier number) button in the top corner (on most models in this series) to log on. If you need to program new secret PIN numbers, one of the users has the programming manual here:

My sharp in p mode
If you put in REG mode and hit #/SBTL it will clear the "P", but it may modify some of your programming depending on what you were doing (such as keying in an amount and department). Usually it is preset unit price for a department key that may change. You can check this on the report. If you keep an old programming report, you can check to see if anything has changed. If it has, go back to PGM mode and reprogram.
MACHINE WILL NOT INITIALIZE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. JUST BEEPS
Make sure the switch is on REG mode. Make sure there are NO batteries in it. Turn power off at wall for a few minutes. Turn on and it should beep three times. Then put the batteries in. If it beeps more than three times, the printer is probably jammed or faulty. Make sure it can turn. Try taking the ink roller out as it sometimes gets sticky and jams the printer.
