Hello - exactly how
Can you locate the physical switch for the wireless on the laptop? If so, turn it off for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. If that doesn't work you may need to reinstall the wireless driver.
Lost wireless capability
You need first to check if the wireless adapter is installed properly, Ricght click My computer>Properties>Hardware tab>Device manager>look for network adapter and check if the wireless adapter is listed if its there right click on it and go to properties and check the device status..
If the adapter is not showing under network adapter look for anything that says Unknown or other device and you that's where you can find a improper installed device you just need to install the driver for that.
Hope that helps........

My old Sharp Actius UM32W laptop powers off after
This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.
If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.
Sharp PC-AL27
There was a post I read on a notebook forum site that deals with a BIOS problem with the Sharp Actius PCAL27 from a guy named fixyourlaptop AT yahoo DOT com. He stated that he was a Sharp tech, and that the main problem with the AL27 is not the battery, but the BIOS.
There is apparently an issue with these BIOS that causes the power usage of the battery to show incorrectly. I purchased my laptop over three years ago, and just recently updated the BIOS sent me by this fellow, and my laptop battery discharges properly. It still only has about an hour of life but this is the first time it ever worked right.
You can email him for the fix at the above address. Just put in the subject line SHARP LAPTOP AL27 BIOS FIX. He is legit and the fix worked like a charm.
If you want to read his post just do a search for the above (properly formatted) email address on google.
Wants to install reboot disc
If you're looking to reinstall your operating system, you need to first turn on your computer and put the disc in the CD-ROM drive.
Then, turn your computer off. Turn it back on with the disc inside, and it should give you an option to "boot from disc" or something similar. Choose that option, and it will guide you through a step-by-step procedure to reinstall the operating system. This may take quite a while.
