The fix might be cheap, or it might be expensive. I've gotten two older LCD tvs that did something similar. Both were a common problem with the model and make. They both needed a small capacitor replaced on the main board. The one that needed replacing had burst, and it simply had to be soldered out, and a new one put in. Worked easy, but you need to be comfortable taking the TV apart to find out. Generally by control board, the power light blink number is part of a diagnostic for a repair person. you might be able to type the specifics into Google , model, number of blinks, what color... and find the issue. If it is a power supply, it might be a 50-80$ part. If it is a capacitor, probably would cost less than $5 with shipping from Ebay. Get the info together and call a local repair shop, as long as the screen isn't damaged, it's probably cheaper than buying another one.

The auto-dimming is from the OPC (light sensor) control on the Sharp LC-65UE630X. Enter the menu and go to the TV setup portion of the menu system. Select the Picture sub-menu and set OPC to Off. This is shown on page 3-3 (page 24 of the PDF). Sharp has the manuals for their Android TVs here: https://global.sharp/aquos/en/androidtv/support/ . The direct link to the manual for the LC-65UE630X is currently https://global.sharp/aquos/en/androidtv/support/download/UE630X_65_58_50/UE630X_Series_user_manual.pdf .

I hope this helps. If you have a different model, please add a comment with the full model number. I believe the light sensor dimming will be in the same place across most Sharp models. I would only be able to confirm this with the model of your set.

Your BluRay player is probably set/fixed to Region 2 (if you are in UK/EU). Most devices let you change the region bashing some strange combination of buttons on the remote control (engineer code/command), that allows it to be set to different regions or preferably REGION 0 (region free).

You can most likely find this by google'ing your BluRay player with the words region engineer code, but if you supply the make and model, don't mind having a look for you.

Check the "Main Power" to ensure it is on. Locate the button on the top of the television among the "Volume" and "Channel" buttons. ... If the "Main Power" button is off the remote will not turn on the television. Wait to see if pressing "Main Power" will activate the TV.
