My Scunci stopped working. I took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together. Now hot steam comes out constantly. No way to turn it off unless unplugged. Did I put it back together wrong?

Go onto Google.
Type in the product name and model with the problem and the answers will be listed

Scuncii Steamer

It is probably clogged with rust or limescale - can happen with steam cleaners. Sadly there's no way around this but to try a limescale remover in distilled water such as Calgon limescale remover. Fill the kettle as normal and give it time to boil up. Then release the steam as you would normally. You may find that the kettle will spurt out deposits of gunk. Sounds like its definately clogged though.

Scunci ss1000 handheld steamer

My Scunci MS 1000 heats and builds up steam, but the steam does not release from the spout when the release button is pushed. Plenty of pressure is built up inside (escapes when cap is opened). What is the problem?

Heats up and produces steam but the release button does not open the flow of steam.

To remedy this, I did the following:
1) Removed screws from: a) Lower area of handle (1 screw), b) Top of steamer, under round rubber flap around fill hole (2 screws), c) Front of steamer where nozzles attach (2 screws)
2) Removed back of handle, top of steamer, front of steamer where nozzles attach
3) Once all parts are removed, you can see a brass button that is pushed by the trigger
4) Using a needle-nose pliers, grasp and rotate the button several times in both directions (you may hear it cranking against the interior spring). Do this until it turns fairly easily with the pliers.
5) Once this is done, you fill find that the brass button can be very slightly depressed with a bit of force. You may also need/want to unfold a large paper clip to push into the nozzle hole to help unsticking the brass button (not sure if that helped in my case, but it was something I tried along the way). When the brass button moves in and out (again, it won't move much), the steam release mechanism is unstuck!
6) Reassemble all parts (everything snaps back neatly into place).
This worked for my unit!

How do i clean off hard water deposits off the bar inside so that steam will come out again?

there are iron cleaning products available fro small goods retailers or repair shops that will break down those deposits while it easy to fill from the tap , if you read the user manual it is recommended to use de-mineralised water for irons not tap water
