I have a SCE170 Scotsman ice maker with a faulty cube size control. I'm looking for options to fix other than replacing with exact match.

Check with an appliance parts supplier for suggested replacements.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1095484/Samsung-Rf195abrs.html?page=94#manual I checked this wiring diagram and could not see any sensor that would control the fans. there are many units that will keep the fans off till a certain temp is reached so as to not circulate warm air after a defrost. you may have a bad sensor?

Water comes into the machine

Hi

Please check the water inlet valve, it might be frozen or blocked with mineral deposit. Use a hair dryer to remove the blockage. Make sure the water inlet valve's screen is not blocked. If the issue persists, then the water inlet valve has gone bad, use a multimeter to test the water inlet valve's continuity. Use a multimeter to test the continuity. If that is fine then test the auger motor and replace if bad. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The diagnostic light shows: Low temperature

The power required for the compressor can be provided either directly by a motor or indirectly by a belt or a gear drive. In these compressors, cylinder clearance volume, compression ratio, amount of suction superheat, valve pressure drops, and the refrigerant-oil characteristics are the main parameters which affect their efficiencies.
so get the motor checked it may be weak and so the diagnostic light shows: Low temperature discharge.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Bin Full light stays on all the time

This is usually an indication that the photo eyes are probably dirty. They "See" across the opening where the ice drops through. If they are dirty, it registers as a fill machine.
A bin stat can cause the same problem.
The eyes and sometimes be a major problem finding them getting to them. On smaller machines like this one, it's hard to get your hands on them.
Good Luck and hope this helps.
