Why paperport 9 doesnt work on windows 7

Maybe because they're up to 12 and 10 didn't work on Vista?

Just a thought.

If you get on their email list, you'll eventually get to buy the upgrade at half price. $50 for PP12 and $100 for PP12 Professional.

Probleme of compatibility

What compatability is listed on the box? If it doesn't have Vista listed, you'll probably have to swap it.

It will not work with windows 7. Is there

Here is how to Install them so they work. Download your XP driver you wish to install. If it's in a zip/rar file then extract it to your desktop. You should have a simple .exe file sitting on your desktop to install the drivers, as normal for XP. Right click the .exe file and select "Properties". Then select the tab called "Compatibility" Now check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure "Windows XP Service Pack 2" is highlighted. Now apply the settings and run the installer. This should work for most drivers, but not all This should all be done in Administrator Mode. & done to BOTH the install .exe and the programs run .exe

I have paperport 9.0 and I can't get it to work

PaperPort 9 is not supported for Win7. You need to upgrade your product or use a Virtual computer running a different OS. PaperPort 10 is being tested with Win7. PaperPort 11.2 and PaperPort 12 are fully supported under Win7. (My household has PaperPort 11. It doesn't work consistently with Win7 and a generic Win7 driver for an older scanner.)

With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you have the option of downloading and installing the XP mode. (This actually takes two downloads.) Once you are running the virtual XP computer, you can install the PaperPort 9 and the scanner (if you want to capture the files from there). To share images with the real computer, files may need to be stored to external media. Hardware can only be installed to one "computer" and you will be prompted to uninstall the device from the other computer.

I hope this helps.

Scansoft paperport 10 keeps loading every time i

Check the Startup folder in the Start menu. If it is there, simply delete the entry there. Otherwise you can use "msconfig" from the Start Run menu to control the startup programs and disable paperport.

Describe your scansoft paperport deluxe 9 windows

Hi there and welcome here

Take a look here :
http://reviews.cnet.com/document-management/scansoft-paperport-deluxe-v/1707-3522_7-30787056.html

It does not describe windows Vista, so I think it is not compatible with windows Vista, so there is 2 thing you can do :

1. you can see if it runs in compatibility mode, and you do it in this way : Highlight the program icon on the desktop or in the start folder, choose properties, select the last tab, choose compatibility mode with windows xp and try to open the program

2. If it is not working maybe you can upgrade to a newer version, for that you have to go to the product homepage . Normally you find a link in the program where you can go to the product homepage.

Hope this can help
Have a nice Christmas over there

All by a sudden when staring PP11 I get the

Hi,

Here are some correct way of installing paperport:

  1. The PaperPort 11 User's Guide, located on the installation CD, provides additional information about installing and setting up PaperPort. Please refer to it for complete installation instructions.
  2. Install the scanner to be used before installing PaperPort. The scanner must be working independently of PaperPort 11 prior to connecting it to PaperPort. Scanners that use PaperPort should be installed according to the scanner manufacturer’s specifications. Please consult the documentation that came with the scanner for information.
  3. It is recommended to turn on the scanner before turning on the PC.
  4. Close all other applications, especially anti-virus programs. Anti-virus and other programs may cause the PaperPort installation to fail.

Log onto the computer with administrator privileges if installing on Windows 2000 or XP.
  5. Please note that PaperPort is not supported on any server operating systems and must be installed and run locally.
If you were using Windows Vista, then the following things:

Click Start/Run (Type "msconfig") then disable all services in system
configuration temporarily anf try to perform clean install of PaperPort.

BE SURE that compatibilitymode is turned off.
To turn off compatibility mode, navigate to the folder where the
PaperPort executable file (PaprPort.exe) is located, right-click on the
file, click on the compatibility tab and uncheck the Compatibility Mode
check box.

Check whether you were using Vista 64 or 32 bit bcoz PP11 works best in Vista 32bit editions

Turn of User account control in Vista and try installing PP1 and check whether it works

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

It keeps saying that the scanning device is Out

"...till now"
So... what changed? did you install some new software that consumes a lot of resources?
Some update?
Changed something in the resolution? (higher = more memory needed)
check the disk space too, maybe the pagefile is larger than usual.
or, re-install the scanner driver, and PaperPort just to clear things out.

I need to change the settings in Paperport 9 so

To scan directly to email in Jpeg format when pressing a designated button on
the scanner. This may work for other scanner models, Paperport versions, and image formats.
Basically, all that is required is to create a new link in Paperport, enable the format conversion options, then select this link in the OneTouch panel. However, there are a couple of hiccups along the way that may prevent this from working. First, if you choose JPEG as the only format choice for conversion it will not work. For some strange reason you must enable other formats for conversion choices even if just for effect.
Secondly, after creating the new link in PaperPort you may find that the selected icon does not appear in the OneTouch control panel. In order to get it to show you have to refresh the panel by selecting an Icon with the same executable as the one you created and then clicking on the Options button on the lower left hand corner. Once you close the Options window the new link icon is now visible. If you choose to delete a link in Paperport but it has not deleted from the OneTouch control panel, simply do the same thing you had to in order to get it to appear, that is, select another link icon that
has the same executable and click the options button.
Lastly, there another strange quirk that I haven't been able to nail down yet but it seems that sometimes you must wait several seconds for changes to take effect and at other times you must open and close a window a few times for the changes to take effect.
