Orange light on the samsung printer indicate what?
Toner powder level is too low in the cartridge, you may refill the toner powder in the cartridge with a Samsung compatible toner(not made by the Samsung), or an option to replace the cartridge with a Samsung's MLTD 101 S genuine toner.
I have a samsung SCX3400 and am operating MacOsX 13. the printer function is working just fine but I am struggling to find a download for the scanner.
Here's what you can try to get your scanner working:
- Samsung's Official Website: Visit Samsung's official website and navigate to the support or downloads section. Look for your specific printer model (SCX3400) and see if they have scanner drivers available for macOS 13. Samsung may have released updated drivers that are compatible with your operating system.
- Use Apple's Built-in Drivers: macOS typically includes built-in drivers for a wide range of printers and scanners. Sometimes, these built-in drivers can work with your printer's scanning function. To check if your printer is recognized, go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" and see if your Samsung printer is listed there. If it's listed, try using the "Open Scanner" option to see if you can scan using the built-in driver.
- VueScan Software: VueScan is third-party scanning software that often provides compatibility with a wide range of scanners, including older models. You can try downloading and installing VueScan to see if it can recognize and work with your Samsung SCX3400 scanner.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your macOS 13 is up to date. Sometimes, Apple releases updates that include improved compatibility with various devices, including printers and scanners.
- Contact Samsung Support: If none of the above methods work, you may want to contact Samsung's customer support for assistance. They might have specific recommendations or updated drivers available for your scanner on macOS 13.
- Consider Compatibility: If your printer is quite old, it's possible that Samsung may not provide updated drivers for macOS 13. In that case, you might need to consider upgrading your scanner or using it with a computer running an older, supported version of macOS.
ML-1860. What does red light indicate?
The presence of a red light on the printer can indicate different things depending on its behavior and the specific model. Here are some common reasons for a red light on the Samsung ML-1860:
- Error or Issue: If the red light is solid or blinking, it might indicate an error or issue with the printer. This could be related to a paper jam, low toner, a cover not properly closed, or any other hardware problem.
- Low Toner: In some cases, a red light might indicate that the printer's toner is running low or needs to be replaced. Check the printer's control panel or software utility for any low toner warnings.
- Printer Offline: If the red light is on, and the printer is not responding to print commands, it might be offline or not properly connected to the computer or network.
- General Status Indicator: Some printers have a red light that serves as a general status indicator. This light might be on during normal printer operation and is not necessarily indicating an error.
To determine the specific reason for the red light on your Samsung ML-1860 printer, follow these steps:
- Check Printer Display: If your printer has a display panel, check if any error messages or warnings are displayed. The display can provide valuable information about the printer's status.
- Check the User Manual: Refer to the printer's user manual or documentation for information about the meaning of the red light and troubleshooting steps.
- Inspect Printer: Physically inspect the printer for any paper jams, open covers, or other visible issues that might be causing the red light.
- Check Toner Level: Check the printer's control panel or software utility to see if the toner level is low or depleted. If necessary, replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
- Ensure Connectivity: If the printer is connected to a computer or network, ensure that the connections are secure, and the printer is set to "online" mode.
- Restart Printer: Try restarting the printer by turning it off and unplugging it from the power source. Wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on again
Please help. I have a Samsung CLP-365 toner printer.
Suddenly won’t feed paper, I’ve changed the little rubber grip but realise now that the entire arm is not spinning. The little coggs at the end are not meeting the large spinning cog.
Is that the issue? How would that have happened? Any fixes?
Thank you
There are a few possible reasons why the arm is not spinning or engaging with the large cog:
- Gear Misalignment: The gears might have become misaligned, which is preventing the arm from rotating properly. This can happen due to wear and tear, or if the printer experienced any force or impact.
- Gear Damage: One or more of the gears may be damaged, causing the connection between the arm and the large cog to fail.
- Mechanical Issue: There could be a mechanical problem within the printer that is preventing the arm from moving correctly.
To troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue, follow these steps:
- Inspect Gears: Open up the printer cover and look for any visible signs of damage or misalignment in the gears. If you notice any issues, try to reposition or replace the affected gears.
- Lubrication: If the gears seem stiff or difficult to move, you can try applying a small amount of lubricant suitable for printers. Be cautious not to use excessive lubricant as it might attract dust and debris, causing more problems.
- Clean the Printer: Dust and debris can also cause issues with the printer's mechanism. Gently clean the interior of the printer, especially around the gears, with compressed air or a soft brush.
- Verify Components: Ensure that all printer components, including the arm, are securely in place and properly seated. If something is loose or out of alignment, try repositioning and securing it
