Hard disk failure is imminent
Usually there is no way of repairing your hard drive however you might be able to get it running long enoughr to retrieve some of your dataTest all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensionsthe leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty including the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
you can get a hard drive error message
also
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive then or you could run the chkdsk utitlity
another way of doing this
click start control panel administration tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start should schedule this task when restart
you should have no input while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input might damage your hard drive
then defragment your hard drive
hope this helps you

My desktop computer is done
It is really easy. If your using Windows 7, plug the IDE to USB connector to your Samsung Hard drive. Then using the provided USB cable, plug in the USB cable to the Hard drive. Then plug it into an available USB port on your other PC. Window will automatically install the needed drivers for you. Then navigate to Start/Computer/Local Disk E. Assuming there is no 2nd hard drive or partitions installed. And there will lye your Samsung Drive.

if you are trying to install a dual operating system with 2 hard drives and if your hard drive are sata the largest will automatically become the primary if you need to make a partition on one hard drive
partition magic would be the program for you and its 100%free http://www.filehoo.com/download/Partition-Magic-8,0.aspx when you download partition magic you will have the option to make rescue to disks to boot from make these disks then change your first boot device your to floppy drive this will give you options to partition then partition only the good sectors of your hard drive and install an operating system to the good partition

Single broken pin on my sp0802n 80gb hard
If you have a jeweles loupe', a steady hand, patience and an affinity for cursing....you might just be able to pull it off. I have done this repair in the past and it can be done. The first thing that needs to be done is the controller pcb board on the bottom has to come off. This is where the IDE interface lives so you don't need to mess with the main drive.
There is another option if you want to try it, Get the model of the drive from the front sticker and search for a new pcb board on Ebay, the controller board can be purchased.

Not sure if replacing the controller card will resolve your problem.
When you were doing the backup were you connecting the drive to your backup computer are you connecting it directly to the SATA port or via a USB connection.
Also do you have access to a Windows XP computer. I have found in several cases with mine own recoveries for my customers that if I hook the drives to my Windows XP computers the data is seen so I can recover it. It has to do with the fact that Windows XP handles the data differently than Windows 7/Vista does.
Let me know how things go and/or if you have any more questions

Burned out the control board
The only practical way to recover the data is through a professional data recovery company that has the equipment to do this.

Well I know what that means. You better back up everything and go buy a new hard drive. That is a sign it is going to fail

Hi Good day!!! follow this
1. Decide which hard drive will be the startup (master) drive. If this drive was the startup drive previously, or if it's a new hard drive, then the master drive designation will already be set.
2. To change the designation of a new drive to be a slave drive, skip to step 4.
3. To change the designation of an existing drive to be a slave drive: Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord, remove the drive from its drive bay, and disconnect the drive from its power cord and ribbon cable.
4. Check the hard drive documentation or the label on the drive itself for master/slave jumper settings.
5. Find the jumpers on the circuit board of the drive. Jumpers are plastic plugs with metal sleeves that form a circuit between a pair of pins. Jumper locations are labeled on the board with a J followed by a number (such as J20).
6. Use tweezers or very small pliers to remove or reposition the jumpers to the configuration shown in the documentation or on the disk label.
7. Install (or reinstall) the hard drive in the computer. (See "How to Install a Second Hard Drive.")
Don't forget to vote thanks!!!

My Hard drive has only 6% space left on it.Can i
> can I connect an external hard-drive to it?
Probably.
However, an external hard-drive should _ONLY_ be used to make an _ADDITIONAL_ copy of your important files. It should _NOT_ be used to store the _ONLY_ copy of some files -- if/when the drive fails, the _ONLY_ copy of those files will be _GONE_. Not good!
Instead, it's time to purchase an additional "internal" disk-drive, which will be _NEWER_ and _LARGER_ and _WARRANTIED_ and to use software to "clone" your old hard-drive onto your new hard-drive.
Then, disconnect the old, out-of-warranty, disk-drive, and boot Windows from the new disk-drive.
Then, purchase an EMPTY disk-drive enclosure, for about $30,
install your old disk-drive into the enclosure, to build your own external storage device. Once you're satisfied that your new "clone" disk-drive is working 100% correctly, delete all the files from the OLD disk-drive, and then make a backup of your files onto the now-empty disk-drive.
